whats the latest authentic update on D.Milito's injury scare? Hope He is perfectly fine. I wish to see him in the starting 11 against Nigeria! Oh! but then for that to happen he has to overcome a bigger scare called Maradona

Seba! Where is arg going to play most of the games? In Preotoria? I'm going to be in Capetown....Any inside info please...

Everyone looks really happy, and Messi seems quite relaxed. I wonder if that feeling will last within the group.

Drogba might be put for the WC, by the way. Which is horrible news.

I am so glad that Deigo Militto's injury scare has not ruled him out of the tournament. He is the most in form striker in the world at this moment. I must confess that i thought he was a journey man at Real Zaragoza. He did score a lot of goals in Spain but his failure to prevent Zaragoza from being relegated, and the lack of interest from other Spainish clubs appeared
to confirm my opinion that he lacked star quality.

However his match winning performances for Inter Milan throughout the season have proved that i was wromg and not as informed as i thought i was. His performances against top class teams have been top notch. He refuses to hide, works non stop and scores decisive goals.

He schooled John Terry against Chelsea, and simply destroyed Van Buyten and Demichellis. I must confess that i was not the only one who underrated him.The Ladbrokes odds against Argentina winning and him being top scorer was 200 to 1.

Argentina have an excellent chance of becoming World Champions in South Africa. Their main rivals will be Holland and Brasil. Holland have about 3 to 4 match winners. They qualified for the World Cup with ease and have looked excellent in their warm up games. Holland also have the advantage of playing in an enviroment with a lot of Dutch People and those of Dutch ancestry.

Brazil will also be a threat because of their defence, set pieces, counter attacks, pace, physical prescence and history.

There is a lot of mention about Spain's chances but i am not convinced. I watched them against South Korea and they looked beateable. If South Korea had any decent strikers or players who could head the ball they would have drawn or won that game.

Argentina have an excellent chance as Messi is the best player on the planet, the defenders are mean and uncompromising, the forwards are on fire and finally the manager is so focused. I hope this time around my analysis is correct.

im getting sick and heated with the spain hype there midfield doesnt ewven come close to are 2006 midfield yet gets 1000x more hype and everyone knows wen argentina turn it on they will be hailed world beaters = every single world cup this happens i dont get the spain hype at all

veron has been performing wonders over the last 2 years and he utterly destroyed xavi's performance at club world cup veron ran the show like no other and who has a dm on mascharanos level theres a reason people big up argentina theres a reason capelo fears us theres a reason brazil wil;l not stop talking about us the reason is ARGENTINA NUMBER 1 FOTTBALING NATION ON THE EARTH and they all know it ,bad luck over the last 20 years thats all i think the fact this world cup is 24 years after 86 is telling as both italy and brazil had a 24 year hex before its going to
happen again its are year the gods are with us like they were with palermo in the rain vs peru destiny is coming people are not fearing veron

thats like greece not fearing the romans or france not fearing hitler AT YOUR PERAL YOU DONT FEAR VERON....oh he looked fresh and alert in his interview on the video..

it looked like the reserve team vs the first team in that video apart from messi playing with the reserves and tevez was with the first 11 from what i could see it also looked 4-4-2 maradona seemed to cosy up to pastore i think he is liking what he see's there

with a bit of luck we can walk this world cup but greese won the euro cup so anything can hapen

why are spain brazil england talking about argentina WELL WORK THAT OUT FOR YOURSELFS

very good points regarding holland i see a argy holland final and a 3-1 score to argentina lol haha

Dan said,
The key is an easy road to the finals. This being said, how Chile performs is critical to Argentina. If Chile wins the group, and everything else plays out as anticipated. Brazil would face Spain, Holland, and England to get to the finals. Argentina would face Uruguay/Mexico, Germany, and Italy. Our teams would be easy to beat in my opinion and I do not think Brazil can beat Spain, Holland, England all in a row. If they do, they make the final and meet Argentina. Lets hope Bielsa can make ammends for the Albiceleste. If they tie Spain and beat them on goal differential it can be done. Vamos Argentina!

I have the thruth.....

Maradona will replace J.Gutierrez/Maxi for Pastore...

Remember me when it hapends ;)

Notice this:

In the first video, at the minute 2:14, Verón puts the ball at high level, to gain 2 secs of time so he could pass to his left at the right timing with his partner.

He is one of the best middfielders of the world.

gys check out this link.... read the news on milito..... it told how much maradon a sincere about practice and tactics.. even coaching stuff are saying this is the best era of maradona...

"I tell you the truth, years ago I do not see an Argentine national team like this, so working in the tactical, they are stuck with all the players feel they can be owners, plugged it seriously," he told Telam a source of national team.""

There are names that have a place, but Maradona today do not know how to include among the owners of Carlos Tevez and is amazed by the level of Javier Pastore and Diego Milito.

They also showed a good level Nicolas Burdisso and Sergio Aguero. All these questions began to doubt the whole of the Argentine national team coaching staff.

Maradona is above all the details, more alert than ever and those who are close to the Argentine national team remark that "it is the best of the era Maradona" what you're seeing in Pretoria.

Durante toda esta semana se realizaron diferentes trabajos tácticos, tanto en defensa como en ataque y se insistió mucho sobre la posesión de la pelota. Throughout this week were made different tactical work, both in defense and attack and strong emphasis was placed on the possession of the ball.

Por ejemplo, en la práctica del viernes se hizo un trabajo en tríos de ataque, poniendo especial énfasis en la definición. For example, in practice Friday was a work in trios of attack, with particular emphasis on the definition.

En esos trabajos se movieron volantes, delanteros y hasta defensores, exigiendo en todo momento a los arqueros. In those jobs moved flyers, up front and defenders, calling at all times for archery.

También se ensayó con pelota en movimientos remates de larga distancia y el trabajo terminó con ejecuciones desde el punto penal. Also tested with ball finials long distance movements and the work ended with performances from the penalty spot.

En todo momento Maradona dio indicaciones, al borde de quedar afónico por la cantidad de gritos que pego, corrigiendo cosas, alentando ya veces también participando. At all times Maradona gave directions, on the verge of becoming hoarse by the amount of yelling that hit, fixing things, encouraging and sometimes participating.

Es que la pelota llama a Maradona y no al revés, y aunque sea entrenador su zurda sigue intacta como siempre, pese a las molestias que tiene en ambas rodillas. The ball is called Maradona, not vice versa, and even coach his left foot remains intact as ever, despite the inconvenience it has in both knees.

Did you hear what BILARDO said? it is crazier than everything Maradona ever said! here is a german article about it:

http://www.bild.de/BILD/sport/fussball-wm-2010-suedafrika/2010/06/05/maradona-boss/knallt-voellig-durch-wer-das-tor-im-finale-macht-darf-mich-von-hinten-nehmen.html

i think many can't speak german, so here a sloppy translation:

he said: "the player who shots the goal in the final can TAKE him (Bilardo) from behind"!!!!

he continues: "i know it hurts, and people will say i am crazy, but i don't care, only important is to win the wc"

he then said sex is ok, but the players must lay on their backs and the women must do the work and that 80% of the players masturbate under the shower.

this is no joke! i only translated the article i read minutes ago! i don't want to offend anyone.

I actually read that and I still can't believe what he said.

He clearly lost his mind.

The real problem is that behind his 'funny' quotes and the fact that nobody knows which job is he really doing for our national team since he was appointed when Diego took over, is that he is apparently involved with hooligans since 1986.

GRONDONA said it himself. There is an ongoing fiasco with the hooligans from Argentina and how some of them travelled in the same flight with Diego, BILARDO and the players.

After a few days in which everyone of the men involved tried to look to the other side and deny any kind of relationship, there was one member of this hooligan group (who is also a Boca Juniors hooligan) who said in an interview (I can't believe these punks give interviews!) that they were not being paid by the government or the AFA and that they had a direct agreement with MARADONA and BILARDO.

Then MARADONA and BILARDO denied that version (I don't believe them) and finally GRONDONA said that he knows this whole thing started back in 1986 with BILARDO.

In the meantime, the violent fans went to the training camp in Pretoria to demand money and tickets from the AFA officials.

They also said the AFA took two bags that belonged to them at the airport when they all arrived in South Africa.

They said their bags look just the same as those used by the AFA and now they want those two bags back.

The rumour? They never had those two bags and they want the AFA to give them two bags full of Argentina equipment so they could sell it on the streets in South Africa and make a profit out of it.

Disgraceful.

But then again...this is all happening during GRONDONA's watch. The man who did nothing to fight violence in Argentina. The man who saw the number of football-related deaths in Argentina increased to a ridiculous high.

The man who is a complete and utter disgrace to Argentine football.

Unknown said...

Seba, I fully agree with your opinion of Grondona. With the kind of amazing talent pool that has emerged from Argentina since the mid nineties, any other level headed person with vision and foresight at the helm of AFA, would have taken Argentine football to unsurmountable heights where no other footballing nation could have even dreamed of reaching. Sadly that still remains our dream and Brazil with lesser talent has achieved much more than us during the last 15 years.
