I am Argentinian, I live in the USA and I just found your blog. I love it, and it helps me to get info en la seleccion argentina without having to search for 1 hour. But I am curious. Where are you from, and why do you write about the seleccion argentina in English?
Thanks for a great blog!

Hey Pablo, I'm a kiwi born Samoan now living in Australia, My neighbour was argentine and fuelled my passion for Argentine football. My favourite player is Riquelme and I'm sad he's not playing but the National team is more important than any one player. I love argentine football and have a real dislike for Brazilian football, they are so over-rated. Nice to know someone else from NZ is on this site.
Vamos Argentina.

Thanks Sebestian, for this great blog.
I am a big of the Albicestes.
Just like Argentine Tango, Argentine football is subtle and beautiful in my opinion. It is also effective. I also like to think that Argentina produces the best dribblers. I also think that excellent and effective dribbling is a better way to twist a stubborn defence out of shape
as compared to say short passing (like Spain does) or showboating.

my starting line up

Jonas-----samuel-----Demi----Heinze

Pastore----Masche--Tevez----DiMaria

-----------Messi------------------
-----------------Milito------------

The tenacity and physical qualities of Tevez can be best utilized in a central midfield (CM) position. He has the strength and skill to win tackles, dribble past defenders and
produce killer passes. If we can utilize Tevez in CM, we may not miss Banega much. ( I believe that Banega is currently the best argentine CM having a good balance of defending, attacking and passing skills)

Though not an equal replacement for Zanetti, I think Jonas is the best makeshift right back among our available options

But i still fear that when it comes to facing very good teams like England and Spain, the pressure will be felt on our defense in the absence of Zanetti and Cambiasso, I am afraid that the mediocrity of Heinze and the senility of veron will be exposed in these games

Hola Pablo, Originally from Auckland, I was there at the melbourne game, forced my 2 friends who are brazil fans to wear argentine tops, went to the hotel where they were staying to wish them well as they boarded the bus before the game. You must be a highlander fan as well, Always on this blog, loving reading the insight of all the fans and the passion for Albiceleste.

guys. Our defence is not so weak . To be frank better than spain & england. We have Samuel 'The Wall' had wonderful season, currently best defnder in the world, Demi Not so bad, it will take couple of days to recapture his form after injury , still solid, Heinze had a Wonderful season capturing French leagu with Lucho, Burdisso had Fantastic season, On form ,Solid One of the best defender of seria, Otamendi had a good season, not so bad, Despite still lacks big game experience ,Clemente Rodrigez Show his brilliance in club world cup as both RB & LB , Gutirezz a tireless work horse despite limited technics. So our defence is currently best after Brazil. Im pretty sure better than Overhyped england. English Defenders had been foolished by our argentine strikers i,e Tevez & Milito The overrated john terry.England has only two media hyped defenders like ferdiand, & terry.Spain has only one decent defender, Pique & Off form Old Puyol.Im pretty confident if maradona plays with three forwards , messi just behind three strikers, i,e Hiuain, Milito & tevez. Maxi on thright, Di maria on the left, We can terrorise any defnce in the world wwith ease. We have the best attacking force in the world.Still patore & veron can be used in the mid with mascherano. So brazil, spain, England, italy Be careful of argentina
