Playoffs News - Manu Not At His Best

They look extremely awful and perhaps the best reason they have is tiredness. For the second straight game, the veterans San Antonio Spurs lost to the Lakers, only this time they were blown away 71-101. The Lakers now lead the series 2-0.

Manu GINOBILI apparently looks to be hampered from an injury he suffered on his fingers and a sprained ankle. I supposed to avoid from risking to further injury, coach POPOVICH decided to start him on the bench. But little no good as he only manages 7 points, 2 rebounds & 2 assists. Even OBERTO was not at his best, posting just 4 points, 2 rebounds & 1 assist.

“I blame myself for these two losses,” Manu said. “It should be 1-1. My mind is not fatigued. I need to step up. It will be different in Game 3.”

Spurs must regroup for Game 3 and use their advantage on home court to full effects to revive their chances in this series. Just as they did against the Hornets. The only difference is that this round is totally different ball game.

The Spurs look finished. I don't think they have much hope of winning this series.

They're playing for their pride now. The Spurs should win a few games and make it more interesting but I can't see them overcoming the Lakers and this 0-2 deficit.

The Lakers have been superb. Bryant and Fisher are controlling the tempo and ensuring the Lakers play at the pace they want. Lamar Odom's and Gasol's passing is tearing apart the Spurs defense. The Lakers defense has been the big thing, they've been superb. Sasha has locked up Manu effectively. They've stopped/limited Parker's penetration. The Spurs shooters are being closed out hard and their shots are being contested. Tim Duncan is the only one with a decent matchup and the only Spurs player that looks like he can score consistently.

It's not over but finished but it's about 90% of the way there.

The Spurs will come back. The Hornets beat them worse, and Chris Paul looked unstoppable. Now they're off fishing somewhere in the Gulf of Mexico.

Keep the faith. We didn't see the real Manu Ginobili in LA and he knows he has to become his aggressive self again.
