Our best hope David NALBANDIAN was the biggest casualty among them all. He took on local boy, Jeremy CHARDY who stunned the 6th seeded in five sets. NALBANDIAN was on a roll taking the first two sets 6-3, 6-4. Then the unimaginable happen, when CHARDY stormed back to win the next three, 2-6, 1-6 & 2-6.

Maximo GONZALEZ lost to Mikhail YOUZHNY (RUS) 3-6, 2-6 & 2-6
Martin Vassallo ARGUELLO lost to Jarkko NIEMINEN (FIN) 5-7, 1-6, 6-3 & 7-6
Diego JUNQUEIRA lost to Ivan LJUBICIC (CRO) 3-6, 4-6 & 2-6
Juan Ignacio CHELA lost to Fernando VERDASCO (ESP) 5-7, 6-4, 3-6 & 5-7
The only survivor that is remaining in the Men’s Single is Eduardo SCHWANK who later take on 18th seeded Frenchmen Paul-Henri MATHIEU. It seems like this guys is a must watch, so we might just get an interesting match up with SCHWANK going against the local crowd as well.

Mathieu is obviously the favourite for the match today, being seeded and all, but if I were a betting girl, I'd put my money on Schwank. He's on a hot run, having just won those three Challengers and then taking out Moya and Granollers.
And also Mathieu nearly went down to Oscar Hernandez yesterday - so if nothing else, he'll be tired from the five sets!
