Oh boy are we going to have another long series again. After trailing by 11 points in the first half, the New Orleans Hornets won the first game by 19 beating Spurs 101-82. If there one thing that the Spurs could learn is that these Hornets really do mean business when they arrive here.
If there is one thing that I need to be surprise was Tim DUNCAN erratic game tonight, posting just 5 points. The likes of PARKER, BOWEN and FINLET step up their game but wasn't just enough.
Manu GINOBILI did everything he could to provide the much needed damage limitation with a team high performance, posting 19 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists & 1 steal. Fabricio OBERTO, also from the bench, just manages 1 point, 6 rebounds, 1 steal & 2 block shot.
With the home court advantage not on their side, Spurs will have to re-group for Game 2 before the series heads back to Texas.

Hey John,
You're right! Hornets-Spurs is going to be a war!
Tim Duncan really stunk it up and so did the Spurs bench, if you don't count Manu. I can't believe how badly Robert Horry and Fabricio Oberto were getting chumped by David West!
The Spurs have no athleticism up front to answer West and Chandler, so Duncan's really gonna have to step up and kill New Orleans with his cyborg game if the Spurs are gonna win.
I think Game 1 showed that they could've used the athleticism or energy of ex-Spurs Francisco Elson and Luis Scola.
Check my post on Game 1 - it's got highlights of Saturday night's games, too :

Thanks for the comment VJ Rabid,
Yes, I've left a comment on your post.
Other playoffs news...
Walter HERRMANN made his playoffs debut against the Orlando Magic. He played for about 8 min plus and only manages 1 free throws. The Pistons won 91-72.
Speaking of Argentina basketball, the Olympics are going to be exciting.
Are you into Euroleague Basketball? Argentina point guard Pablo Prigoni played in the Final Four, and I have some coverage on my website.

I know it's a little early for the Olympics, especially with the NBA Playoffs in full bloom, but with the United States, Spain, Russia and Argentina all having a watch to win, it's gonna be hot!
