Carling Cup : Goals from INSUA and TEVEZ

While we’re in the midst of a heat discussion regarding future’s squad list from Diego, couple of football news coming from Europe.

English Carling Cup (Round 4)

After a tremendous weekend against Manchester United, Liverpool were looking to continue their fine form against Arsenal. Instead they went out of the competition after losing 1-2. Emiliano INSUA scored his first goal in English football, drilling a looping shot up over Lukasz FABIANSKI from 25 yards.

While it is the end of the road for INSUA (and Javier MASCHERANO), the Albiceleste duo of Manchester City had plenty of reason to smile after City’s 5-1 win over Scunthorpe. Pablo ZABALETA had an assist in Roque SANTA CRUZ’s goal which out City back in the lead in the 38th minute. Carlos TEVEZ also had a goal for himself after a fine display of ceaseless running in the 71st minute.

Spanish Copa del Rey (Fourth Round)

German PACHECO scored the second goal for Rayo Vallecano in their 2-0 shocked win over Athletic Bilbao.

Italian Serie A

AC Milan threw away a two goal lead in the dying minutes against Napoli. Three minutes into stoppage time, German DENIS headed his side level to earn the Naples side a point. Don’t forget more football from Italy coming up later when Inter will take on Palermo
