SAVIOLA and Benfica run riot

After an exciting weekend full of goals, Monday brought us only 2 note-worthy goals coming from(my opinion) one of Argentina's most underrated strikers, Javier SAVIOLA. Ever since making the switch from Real Madrid to Benfica, SAVIOLA has re-found his scoring boots and has been in great form latley.

On Monday, Benfica hosted Nacional and just like Barcelona ran riot on Real Zaragoza 6-1, this was the same thing. After a beautiful split through ball by AIMAR on the first goal, it was SAVIOLA's turn to shine. With the score tied at 1-1 and having had a goal disallowed for offside(very close call by the linesman), SAVIOLA's first goal came off a set piece as a cross was sent into the box and SAVIOLA was the first to connect with it as he headed the ball into the net. SAVIOLA's second came in the second half. Having picked up the ball in the penalty box, SAVIOLA beat the goalkeeper to a shot at the far post to make it 4-1 to Benfica.

Aimar's move and pass were fantastic. I may be biased as a River fan, but I'd love to have Pablito and Saviola in the team. I think Messi, Saviola and Aimar have linked up well in the past, add in Higuain to lead the line and Di Maria as another winger and I think we have the right balance up front and in midfield:

Higuain Saviola
Di Maria Aimar Messi
Mascherano

Something tells me Gordito Maradona won't go for it as it is too much River. But if they keep their form and stay healthy (for Aimar not a foregone conclusion), I think it is our best lineup, particularly as it allows Messi to play his favorite position and not have to do everything.

No No I don't think Saviola is good anymore for the NT. The players which deserve to be in our attack are Higuain and Milito(when he gets better).
Shame that Tevez didn't fulfill the promise he showed when he was in Boca and Corinthians and in 2004/2005 when he was phenom.
Aguero too didn't turn out to be the "New Messi" as it has been touted of him when I first read about him in 2006.
Zarate and Lavezzi are good players for their teams but they don't have a prolific scoring record.
So till now Higuain is our best striker even if he's not in the first team but I'm sure he'll be a starter soon.
