NBA News - GINOBILI, The Bat Catcher

Happy Halloween to every one!

In a night when you expect him to either score spectacularly and produce an amazing dunk, Manu GINOBILI made headline for some other reason, when the SA Spurs took on the Sacramento Kings.

Instead he showed off his quick hands by capturing a bat!

The uninvited guest found its way into AT&T Center and was roaming around for a brief period during the game. The interruption forced the game official to stopped the play until Manu emerge with his Halloween trick; swatting the bat out of the air with a bare hand.

He then carried the creature off the court to thunderous cheers. As the theme song to “Batman” played, a few Sacramento players applauded, too. A trainer emerged to squirt sanitizer on Manu’s hand.

“When you can’t dunk anymore, you have to find a way to make it into the news,” Manu said. “So that’s what I did. I grabbed a bat. I didn’t think it was a big deal.”

Hopefully the bat is alright nothing happens to it.

Spurs won the game 113-94 with Manu posting 13 points, 1 rebound, 3 assists plus one steal. On the other end, Andres NOCIONI had 2 points, 3 rebounds & 1 assist.

It was a night three other Tall Albiceleste players were on the wining side. Fabricio OBERTO posted 4 points, 2 rebounds, & 5 assists in the Washington Wizards 123-104 win over the NJ Nets. Carlos DELFINO played his first game as a starter for the Milwaukee Bucks and posted 5 points, 3 rebounds plus an assist in their 96-85 win over the Detroit Pistons. Luis SCOLA help the Houston Rockets overcome the Portland Trail Blazers (111-107) with 8 points and 6 rebounds.
