HIGUAIN With A Double, Jesus Upsets Old Lady

After being humiliated being by an unknown side in mid-week, Real Madrid returns back too winning ways with a 2-0 win over Getafe despite playing with only 10 men after just 27 minutes into the game.

Gonzalo HIGUAIN was given the nod by under pressured coach Manuel PELLEGRINI to start the game. He returned back the favour with a two goals performance.

After receiving a cross from MARCELO, he controlled the ball on his chest, took his time and then smashed a rising left-footed shot into the near top corner. His second came just two minutes later after being sent through by Karim BENZEMA, he slotted a low post shot past keeper Oscar USTARI.

He did came close to score a hat-trick, when his shot hit the bar in the 65th minute. Eventually he was brought out to make way for captain RAUL and he was given a well deserve standing ovation from the Bernabau faithful.

Meanwhile in Italy, Ezequiel LAVEZZI, German DENIS and Jesus DATOLO all played crucial roles for Napoli in their dramatic 3-2 win over Juventus at the Stadio Del Alpi.

Juve were already 2-0 up despite of the initial troubles from both LAVEZZI and DENIS. Then the course of the match changed when DATOLO was brought in the 58th minute. Just a minute into the game, he provide a low cross at the far post for Marek HAMSIK to pull one back for the Naples side.

Five minutes later, DENIS was again causing problems in the Juventus penalty area. He headed the ball from a corner which Gianlugi BUFFON could only parry but he was unable to meet the rebound. Instead a slight touch from him allowed DATOLO to slide the ball in for the equalizer.

Then in the 81st minute, DATOLO played a part when his cross was deflected and landed at HAMSIK to net the winner. Once again, the poor south of Italy are happy thanks to the contribution from the Albiceleste trio of the San Paolo.

Franco SOSA scored for Lorient in their 1-1 draw with Lens. Just a day earlier, Lucas BARRIOS continued his goal scoring spree for Borussia Dortmund in their 2-o win over Hertha Berlin. While in Portugal, Ernesto FARIAS earned FC Porto a point against Belenenses.

Expect more news coming in later from Mundo on the Albiceleste Army at the European front.

Seba,John,Roy(And everybody else) what do you guys think about Lucas Barrios? He is doing a killing in Borussia Dortmund. Is a pure #9 and a amazing goal scorer. He is turning 25 in a few weeks and can be a huge asset to our team. He was great at Colo-Colo and now is ripping apart the German league. Does he deserve a shot over a Tevez,Lavezzi and whoever does not meet the requirements. Lisandro Lopez has lost his touch since he has been dropped from the national team. Milito seems to get hurt a lot. Should we call him before Tata Marion tries to snag him up? He is a player that really is never brought up here and he has caught my eye with his great form.

Here are a couple videos of him just from this week which he has scored.

Thanks for your comment, Jack!

Well I guess since now until the World Cup we will not be playing competitive game rather than friendlies and warm matches, I would say why not. As a striker you are measured by the number of goals you score, and it Lucas BARRIOS case he has proven in Chile and now seems to be doing it in Germany. So that’s a plus point.

Somehow rather I think Diego is not noticing about this. If it did took Gonzalo HIGUAIN soo long though he plays in the best league in the world, not to forget the likes MILITO and even Mauro ZARATE are right behind him; how do you expect BARRIOS to ever get a sniffed at the National Team.

Only time will tell.

One thing is for sure, we need to have a settled squad before the World Cup and too many changes can only hinder that progress.

We need Higuain to cement his place in the attack with more games under his belt come the World Cup, why?
Because we can't keep on rotating this role to many many different players each match. We need a solid striking partnership.
Look at Germany for example, they have been playing with Klose and Podolski for a long time and they've scored more than 55 goals and these two players are not even doing well for their clubs.
The only two strikers I would still like to be given a chance with the NT are D.Milito and Zarate. Aguero and Tevez FAILED miserably although I still keep my hopes on Aguero for the talent that he brings to the table only when we are facing a European team. If we are facing a South American team, then Higuain/Zarate and Milito should start upfront with Messi dropping back at right midfield (Maxi's position), Left Midfield should be between Di Maria and Perotti, the two centre midfielders should be Mascherano and Cambiasso/Banega. I wish Pastore puts in more world class performances for him to be selected.
Right Back position is for Zanetti/Jonas. The Defence should be Demichelis and Samuel with Heinze slotting in for one of the two if injured. Left Back position should be for Insua/Jonas. Gladly I also feel the Goalkeeper position is not an issure anymore and Romero is a courageous GK who is playing in the Champions League and although I had my hopes high on Ustari ever since I first heard of his potential in 2005, Romero is much taller and has impressed me a lot. So my current best starting line up is:
Romero
Zanetti Samuel Demichelis Insua
Mascherano Cambiasso
Messi Di Maria
Higuain
Milito

Maybe Jonas should start instead of Insua for his stamina, But What I've realized in our last two matches is that Maradona has opted to choose TALL Argentine players for the first time to take advantage of the set pieces. Notice how Schiavi, Veron, Heinze , Higuain, Jonas and Demichelis were playing the last match instead of the short players which we're used to seeing in the penalty area.

Fabian Monzon absolutely USED today around the right side by a Rosario Central player that led to Central's winning goal over Boca at 2-1. Bad effort by Pato as well. Then Monzon almost tied it with a free kick laser off the crossbar in the last seconds. I don't think Monzon has it defensively and I KNOW Pato doesn't have it any more.
