Little Argentina Book Passage to Nigeria

Argentina has become the first South American nation to win their way through to the FIFA U-17 World Cup Nigeria 2009. A 2-0 win over arch-rivals Uruguay ensured Argentina topped Group B to claim one of three qualification berths on offer.

Knowing only a win would guarantee their ticket to Nigeria, Argentina opened the scoring after just 11 minutes through Sergio ARAUJO. They had to wait until injury time for the clincher with striker Daniel VILLALVA sealing victory.

Well at least we can take some comfort from these boys on their success as the Under-17 World Cup is the only FIFA tournament that we can look forward too this year.

We played better than Uruguay in the first half and went in deservedly at half time 1-0 up, with a goal from Araujo.
In the second half Uruguay came at us, but the defence looked very good, especially with Espindola in charge and considering that 2 of our defenders had picked up yellow cards in the first half.
We were on the back foot for about 10 minutes defending before we managed to start getting more into the sercond half. Then Sosa who looks a good player got himself yellow carded, and 5 minutes later picked up a second yellow card and with about 20 minutes to go we were down to 10 men. But, we defended quite stoically, and Brown made some changes, Rosales came on for Araujo, Villalva came on for Rotondi and Orfano came on for Olid Apaza. Down to 10 men we were under pressure, but we held on. In the last few minuites Villalva on the counter scored a great individual effort to make it 2-0.
We are through to the under 17 World Cup but we are also through to the final of the Sudamericano, which will be played in 5 days time. Also we are the only unbeaten team in this competition.
Way to go boys!

I think we have a very good chance of winning the under 17 world cup, we will have Lamela back and maybe Icardi too.
And if these guys stay together, these guys could be our next u20 team. The future is bright, the future is Argentina.
