Remarkable stories don’t happen always but for Martin ANDRIZZI, his 84th minute goal will be remembered in Albiceleste folklore as the goal that gave Arsenal their first ever major trophy in the clubs 50 years of existence.
Thanks to the strength of a 3-2 first-leg win on Friday in Mexico City's Azteca Stadium, Arsenal — which reached the first division for the first time four years ago — finished 4-4 on aggregate but claimed the title on away goals, Argentina's fourth in the six years of the Copa Sudamericana.
America led 2-0 on a 17th-minute own-goal by Cristian DIAZ and appeared to have clinched the title in the 63rd when Juan SILVA struck a right-footed volley between the near post..
But after several near misses, Arsenal scored the clincher when ANDRIZZI settled a ball from Andres San MARTIN near the top of the penalty area, turned and worked his way through three America defenders before hitting a left-footed shot while falling into the opposite side of the goal.
The goal set off flag-waving celebrations among the supporters of the club co-founded by Argentine Football Association President and FIFA vice president Julio GRONDONA and his brother Hector in 1957.

What an entertaining match ! What a gutty goal by Andrizzi ! He'll never score a more memorable, clutch goal than that. I watched the match here in Mexico City surrounded by America fans(save for one portena sitting next to me with an America supporter). What a high energy exhibition !
