VERON injured, won't play against Chile

It was arguably the most attractive thing about the coming friendly between Argentina and Chile, but Juan Sebastián VERON's comeback to the Albiceleste is going to have to wait for a little bit more.

The former Manchester United, Chelsea, Parma, Inter, Sampdoria, Boca Juniors (and probably a couple of more clubs) now playing for Estudiantes de La Plata, picked up an injury during the weekend and won't take part of the team that will face Chile on Wednesday.

Pretty sad about this news as I’m sure most of us reading this blog would have been anticipating La Brujita return to the National Team. I still remember what an incredible game he had when Argentina played Chile in the opening match of 2002 World Cup qualifying in which Argentina won 4-1.

VERON scored two goals, one from the penalty spot and the other a powerful strike from outside the box.

Seba, please keep us posted on starting line up for this game.

Like CANAS in the Sony Erricsson Open, Mariano ZABALETA also had fine run (beating James BLAKE in the semi-final) until the final. He lost to Ivo KARLOVIC 6-4, 6-1.

FYI, Napoli fans paid tribute to King DIEGO by displaying an amazing banner during last weekend Serie B match against Pescara. Please do check it out on their official website at www.ssnapoli.it
