Davis Cup - Sweden vs. Argentina

Today our racquet kings will take on Sweden in a Davis Cup quarter-final tie in Gothenburg. The Swedes will hope that home advantage will play a part this weekend, as they attempt to erase memories of their 5-0 loss to Argentina in last year's first round. In only the second meeting between the two nations, Sweden put up a brave fight against the in-form Argentines, who went on to reach the 2006 final.

The tie will also see the return of David NALBANDIAN to the team. Also included in the team is the recently Sony Ericsson Open runner-up Guillermo CAÑAS, Juan Martín DEL POTRO and Sebastián PRIETO.

The following is the schedule for this tie:

1. Thomas JOHANSSON vs. David NALBANDIAN

2. Robin SODERLING vs. Juan Martín DEL POTRO

3. Jonas BJORKMAN/Robert LINDSTEDT vs. David NALBANDIAN/Sebastián PRIETO

4. Robin SODERLING vs. David NALBANDIAN

5. Thomas JOHANSSON vs. Juan Martín DEL POTRO

Lets hope that Alberto MANCINI's side will be able to overcome the Swedes in this tie and progress further in the competition, perhaps go one step further than last year.

VAMOS ARGENTINA!!!

David NALBANDIAN has the won the first set 7-6 against Thomas JOHANSSON. But the Swede bounced back in the second set 7-6 as well. Right now the third set is going on and its not very encouraging as NALBANDIAN is down 3-1.

Common NALBANDIAN!!!

Hi John, everybody..

Unfortunately we've lost the first two points and the series look pretty tough to win now.

Too bad that CAÑAS was not feeling like playing because I'm sure he would have make a difference. Let's see if we can win tomorrow's doubles and on Sunday anything could happen.

Faith is not loss

Nope. I've not lost faith indeed. Lets hope our double can turn things around.

Currently right now we're leading the 1st set 3-2
