Argentina WC shirt unveiled - Back to 1986?

In what seems to be another quest to bring back the glory of 1986, the new Argentina shirt was unveiled on Thursday with Juan Sebastián VERON and Julio GRONDONA in attendance, but without Diego MARADONA.

Only the albiceleste model was presented. We still need to see how the blue one will look like, but I'm guessing it'll be similar to the one Diego wore when he scored the two most famous goals in the history of the World Cup.

One particular aspect is that there'll be two identical models of the same shirt, but one will be body-fit (kind of like the Kappa shirts Italy used to wear in the past) and the other one will be less tight.

I have no information regarding the price and the availability of this shirt worldwide. But in the meantime, here are some images for you to start salivating until you finally get your hands in one of these shirts.

I love it, the body-fit with the sun on the back is just amazing.
I wish Adidas logo wasn't black, maybe white on a sky blue stripe or simply dark blue like the logo !!

Am getting it for sure !!

Bringing back the football would be truly awesome.

But no more pessimism for now. If you ask me, not many people seems to like this jersey. I'm not sure, it's not the worst ever, but it looks kinda featureless. It really looks like a '86 revival. And I hope the shorts are not '86 thight.

Absolutely superb! will buy the body-fit for sure

I bet the price will be somewhere around RM269-RM300 in Malaysia. I always feel that replica jersey are overprice, but what do I know about capitalism...

CAN NOT FLIPPIN WAIT! I love the style(trust me retro is back in the world of fashion and 80's style is also back and very popular). I will also get a body-fit version. These will run about 75-85 dollars US, and if you want a hero(name and number on the back, get ready to push out close to 100). The current version that we have seen for the last couple of years are now 50 dollars(Check any footballing site or ADIDAS.com). They are trying to export these out so they could import the new one's. Not a fan of the one's we had, will wait until I get the new one! Can not wait till to see the away one as well. Maybe vs Germany they will wear them in the friendly in March.

Jack!

Are the aways going to be more of a royal blue as oppossed to the dark navy we've been using the past 10 or more years? Again, more like '86 or do you guys think we'll stick to the darker aways? Curious to see the letters and numbers too. I'm assumming they will debut these against Spain next week?

I will agree with Koma, original jerseys are just too expensive. Anyone care to give us helping had from overseas? I'm sure we can work out something.

I must say I need to upgrade my version. The one which I'm having is pretty much 11 years old. The same version we used in 1998 World Cup with the black colar.

I absolutely love it.

I was walking downtown last night and saw original Argentina jerseys going at 40$(normally, they are about 105$ plus tax). Then I remembered it's because the new jerseys get released this month... then I go on Mundo and see this.

I didn't know that Grondona worked as a designer for addidas in his spare time. It seems like we are REALLY trying to relive 86'. I like these jerseys.. I really like the sun on the back of the neck, very nice touch. But I'll have to once again add to my collection of home and away jerseys.. I have to have both sets for the most recient world cups. This years uniform will be my 8th of my collection. Any photos of the shorts or warm up suits they will be wearing? Anyone know when the new uniforms will be released to the public? I can't wait.

As for the adidas logo, it would have been nicer to have the old version.

Here are 2 more pictures. The first picture is a shot of people wearing the full kit and the second picture is the close-up of the shorts.
