Tennis, Australian Open - Willy Survives Scare

Unlike in Day 1, for the rest of the Albiceleste Army in Day 2 of the Australian Open could have almost turned to be a disaster. That was until Guillermo CANAS gave us something to cheer about.

CANAS took on Dieter KINDLMANN was made to scare as he won the match in five sets. Willy snuck past the German, 3-6, 7-5, 5-7, 6-0 & 7-5. He was the only Albiceleste to made progress to the next round in Day 2.
Playing against Jo-Wilfred TSONGA prove to be much for Juan MONACO as he went down 4-6, 4-6 & 0-6. Here are the rest of the results from Day 2: -

Eduardo SCHWANK lost to Tommy HAAS (GER) - 3-6, 3-6 & 4-6
Martin Vassollo ARGUELLO lost to Gael MOFLIS (FRA) - 1-6, 3-6 & 7-5
Diego JUNQUEIRA lost to Richard GASQUET (FRA) - 7-6, 6-7, 3-6 & 4-6

In the second round, Juan Martin DEL POTRO will take on Germany's qualifier Florian MAYER while David NALBANDIAN will face LU Yen -Hsun from Chinese Taipei.

For both Guillermo CANAS and Brian DABUL, they will have tough proposition as they take on 13th seeded Fernando GONZALEZ and 20th seeded Tomas BERDYCH.

NBA News - Scola the Star of the Albiceleste

The Houston Rockets defeated the Denver Nuggets 115-113 to win their fifth game in the last six. Luis SCOLA posted 16 points, 8 rebounds & 1 assist to his credit.

By his own standard it wasn't good for Manu GINOBILI in the San Antonio Spurs 86-84 win over the Charlotte Bobcats. Manu only manages 10 points, 2 rebounds & 1 assist. While Fabricio OBERTO had 2 points plus a block and a rebound.

Hi :P
I think both Del Potro and Nalbandian will cruise through their second round matches as they seem to be on form (with Juan having won the Heineken Open and David the Medibank International last week).
But I have a feeling Canas and Dabul will be knocked out....
Cheers!

Nalbandian has gone down and is out but Del Potro looks like he has improved and could go far at this year's Aussie Open.
