NBA News – Free Throwing Manu To The Rescue

Everyone knows how tough it can be to come away with a win in Utah. The crowd at the Energy Solutions Arena is often regarded one of the loudest and rowdiest. So the 107-100 it was a well deserved win for the San Antonio Spurs against the Jazz.

Throughout the night, Manu GINOBILI was having shooting trouble and was kept at bay until he made his first free throw in the third quarter. But thanks to his consistent in making important free shots, clutch rebounds and assists, the Spurs victory on the road.

Manu was 6-for-6 from the line in the final 24 seconds and 11-for-12 in the game. He posted 13 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists plus a game high of 4 steals and one block shot. In the initial stage, Fabricio OBERTO had a much better start posting 4 points and 2 rebounds.

Ginobili's all-around game definitely helped. He doesn't have to score in a game to impact it. He just has to be active. The 9 rebounds, the 5 assists, and 4 steals show that last night Ginobili was on the floor as a basketball player, not just a scorer. In fact, those numbers are probably more important than his point total because they show he was involved in the game entirely, and when he does that, eventually he'll start scoring, as he did down the stretch.
