MESSI-Mania Podcast: All about the MESSI show

MESSI, MESSI and MESSI. What else could be the subject of our latest podcast with everything surrounding the little genius? In this hour long podcast, Seba, John and I discuss everything that has to do with MESSI. Whether it be how the media talks about him or his meeting with MARADONA. If it has to do with Lionel MESSI, we talked about it.

Of course we also touch on the other players in the National Team and how the Champions League/Domestic Leagues can effect our players come World Cup time.

im not liking dimaria's selfishness and lack of discipline and team play he was ineffective vs Liverpool and looked out of his depth to be frank about it

aimar was easily stopped and snuffed out again not of international class simply the truth

mascorano is the premiere leagues top passer and top tackler he is with out doubt the best anchorman in global football the best bar non cambiasso and gago are also great dm's

veron is good but how does a old man play 7 wc games in a row i don't see a complete midfield

the only option is two plus messi in the hole witch i think maradona wants i think milito needs his starting 11 defense position back samuel isn't good enough milito has been getting better and better at Barcelona and the guy has great game reading and passing ability samuel is just a lump

Romero-Jonas-Samuel-Demichelis-G. Milito-Mascherano-Banega-Di Maria-Tevez-D. Milito(I know it will be higuain)-Messi. We should win the world cup with this line-up.

Check out this video guys... Messi at 10 playing even better than Cristiano and Rooney today! ;)

btw just a correction Seba, you overlooked Lisandro Lopez (another Argentine!) who has 7 goals in the Champion's League, one behind Messi... even Roy the statistics man didnt notice! :p

Nice podcast guys!

Hola ZiggY, thanks for your comments.

But...I checked my source and I've got Lisandro at 3 in the goalscoring standings.

Check it out for yourself. It doesn't get more official than that. Does it?

Here's hoping Lisandro does get to 7, 9 or 11 goals in the UCL this season and forces MARADONA to change his mind and call him up instead of PALERMO (who hasn't scored in the last 591 minutes -or something like that-, against MUCH WEAKER opposition in Argentina).

Ziggy is right in a way. Lisandro scored 4 goals in CL play-offs. But those play-off goals don't count in the main competition. He scored 4 goals against anderlecht over the two legs including a hat-trick. Licha deserves a spot in the NT and palermo needs to retire right now.

haha sorry Seba, my bad... i saw that on goal.com's CL home page, but i should have double checked... i guess maybe Lisandro hacked the site and made a case for himself :p

btw did the link i posted work for you? coz its not all showing. if not, just double click somewhere in it and the whole line will be selected. now copy it and when you paste it in ur browser the whole thing will be there. weird...

ZiggY.

Great podcast once again amigos! I am in full force Messi-Mania, I just recieved my long sleeve Argentina home jersey (with South Africa arm patch) with Messi on the back in the mail the other day! It's a beauty!

LM10ARG, great starting 11. I am one who agree's with you about Jonas starting as a right back. He would fit the role perfectly. You have to remember that Maradona will be starting Heinze no matter how much we don't want to see him there. Assumming Heinze is in the left back position here would be my back line....

JONAS-SAMUEL-G. MILITO-HEINZE

I have posted several starting 11's that I would like to see and in everyone of the my two CB's were always Samuel-Demichelis but lately the way G. Milito has been performing I would rather see him in the starting lineup and Demichelis on the bench.

Thanks GK for this amazing defensive line up. Although we have no choice but to choose Heinze as left back... But Samuel and Gabi Milito will do more than enough to cover for Heinze's mistakes..

Banega will not be in the WC squad. now that Lady Gago is playing some minutes, this will make Maradona call him again. We will go with the horrible midfield of Veron, Gago, and (the guy that plays at Fiorentina-forgot his name).

And it seems Maradona will not rely on Milito and go with DiMechellis despite his disastrous showings against ManUtd (although in general i like the guy - but he was awful in these games)

DiMaria has a lot of potential, but the way he sucked against Liverpool kept me wondering...still anyplayer can have an off game. i'll still consider him a top notch player.

Tevez, if he continues this form. then i change my mind and i vote for him as maybe in the starting line-up with Messi and Higuain. This leaves Di-Maria as a super-sub.

still like i said, the midfield is my biggest worry...if Banega is not going then at least i pray Pastore plays as a starter. he is the only creative midfielder we have.

LADY GAGO I FUCKING LOVE THAT ,IT DON'T HELP WITH HIM LOOKING SO CUTE

LADY GAGO; PINCHING MY NOSE SHACKING MY HEAD GI GIG GIGGLE GIGGIDY...

REGARDING BANEGA I UNDERSTAND PEOPLE BUT THE GUYS A HEAD CASE A LIABILITY I DONT TRUST HIM

IM A FAN OF THE JANUS IN BACK 4 I AGREE FUCK CONCREAT FEET RED CARD WAITING TO HAPPEN SAMEAL

IT HAS TO BE MILITO 10 FOLD THE PLAYER SAMUEL IS

JAN--DEM-MIL--HENZ
-----MAS-VER-----
LUCHO---MESSI---DIMAR
---------HIG------------

OR ZANETTI AND JANUS IN MIDFIELD

I've been saying that all along about DI MARIA. Great talent, useless brain.

And I forgot to mention him on the pod when talking about players who are individualistic and don't like to pass the ball around. I think he is the best example of that in our current national team. I can't remember a player so reluctant to pass the ball to a team-mate playing for our national team in my lifetime. Maybe the early days of ORTEGA, but not even.

Of course the raw talent is there and he is still very young, but I'm hoping somebody tells him to start passing the ball more often or else...all his talent will be wasted.

Interesting about Jonas GUTIERREZ being proposed as a right back here. I don't recall him playing in that position but I tend to agree with those who would like to see him playing there. He'll have the entire field to go up and down and he could be an option there.

Today he scored for Newcastle United, by the way.

I believe Jonas did played at right back against Peru and he did well.
