The Perfect Goodbye From Milito For Genoa

The Serie A season concluded today with the champions Inter signing off with a dramatic 4-3 win over Atalanta. Both Esteban CAMBIASSO and Hernan CRESPO played a pivotal role in securing this finale victory for Jose MOURINHO’s side.

With the scoreline tied at 1-1 after 10 minutes, Esteban CAMBIASSO won Inter a penalty two minutes later from which Zlatan IBRAHIMOVIC scored from the spot. However the reigning champion were down 2-3 with 10 minutes left to play.

CAMBIASSO, was arguably the best player on the pith, fired the equalizer from the edge to level the score 3-3. Just a minute, Hernan CRESPO gave Inter fans a fine farewell when he set up IBRAHIMOVIC for the winner.

While CRESPO will be moving to Genoa for next season, coming from the other way was non other than Diego MILITO. Like CRESPO he gave Genoa fans the perfect goodbye by scoring two goals in their 4-1 win over against relegated Lecce.

Before that, he set up a goal for Domenico CRISCITO who gave Genoa the lead in the 52nd minute. Four minutes later, he fired a low shot from the edge of the box to put them 3-1 up and then wrapping it up with another superb finish in the 67th minute.

With these two goals, MILITO’s tally this season adds up to 24 goals, just one goal shy of the Golden boot award behind IBRAHIMOVIC and Marco DI VAIO of Bologna. Now all that is left is for the bigger Diego (MARADONA that is) to give this Diego a reasonable chance to play for the National Team against Colombia and Ecuador.

After all, didn’t we argued about the need for a No.9 & out-and-out striker for the Albiceleste. Well with what he has achieved this season, I firmly believe that MILITO can be the right man for that role.

Here’s hoping to see that MILITO will continue his goals scoring exploit next season for the Nerrazurri in both the domestic and European competition. Also, lets hope that we will see the return of CRESPO back to his best and continue the Albiceleste goal scoring tradition for Rossublu as well.

Apologies for the "double post". John and I were writing at the same time.

We'll leave both up. One because it has a video with the goals. The other because it includes the information on CAMBIASSO and CRESPO.
