CaveGol La Champion of France.

Fernando CAVENAGHI becomes the latest Albiceleste player in Europe to win a League title; following the footstep of Lionel MESSI (Spain), Carlos TEVEZ (England), Lisandro LOPEZ, Lucho GONZALEZ (both Portugal), Javier ZANETTI, Esteban CAMBIASSO, Nicolas BURDISSO, Walter SAMUEL, Hernan CRESPO and Julio CRUZ (all in Italy).

The French League was once describe as the “World Most Unpredictable League” (six different winners between 1994-2001). Since then Olympique Lyon rose to the occasion to become one of the most dominant team of the continent for the next 7 years.

Today that reign has come to an end as Bordeaux secured the Ligue 1 title with a 1-0 away win to Caen. Part of this campaign was due to the goal scoring effort of CAVENAGHI. He finishes off the season as the club joint top scorer with 13 goals from 23 appearance.

I’m still hopeful to see him making a comeback with the National Team as he does has the potential to become a truly No.9 type of player. Like Gonzalo HIGUAIN, his goal scoring exploit in the French league for the past two season is something that Diego should capitalize on.

In the meantime congratulation Cavegol!
