Maxi RODRIGUEZ Set For Anfield Move

It’s been the biggest speculated move during the January transfer window, and now it’s looks like an almost done deal. Maxi RODRIGUEZ's proposed move to Liverpool is one step closer and could be completed within the next 48 hours.

Despite other interests, which includes Juventus, Tottenham Hotspurs and also a move back to Argentina to join Boca Juniors, he is on the verge of a loan switch to Anfield after talking to fellow Argentine and National team captain Javier MASCHERANO.

The 29 years old Maxi has recently fallen out of favour at Atletico Madrid, and was left out by manager Quique Sanchez FLORES for Saturday's win over Sevilla, while Liverpool boss Rafael BENITEZ has long been desperate to add a quality wide midfielder to his side, without breaking the bank.

He is also seeking assurances about first-team opportunities from the national captain as he bids to secure a place in Diego MARADONA’s squad for this summer's World Cup in South Africa.

Best of luck to Maxi, though I am a little surprised with this move. I think most of us think Maxi has been struggling a little for some time now. Maybe Benitez thinks the change of scenery will do Maxi good, and it is probably a low cost addition. Honestly, with his recent performances I am happy he is not Boca bound. It probably would not be a low cost move for Boca.

I am not a fan of Liverpool but I love Maxi & am happy for him. He will do well & show the world he belongs in South Africa.

Yeah good move for Maxi, also some speculation over Veron going to Man City? But Estudiantes will most likely not accept the offer.

Veron to City? As much I would like to see him back in the Premiership but let's face it, his game does not suit the English game.

As for Maxi, I guess we can all agree that he needs a change of enviroment maybe Liverpool could be a positive destination. Let's hope he regain his form back and makes the trip to South Africa.

maxi will go to liverpool not tottenham, he will work well with mascharano and insua. Definatly will help his spot for the final squad and he has world cup experience.

It was great to see Milito play yesterday for Barca, He did fairly well compared to Chygrysnky who was horrible!
I saw on Goal.com that Barca are interested in Bollati and Real previously were interested in Otamendi... IMO they're both average, I don't expect anything special coming from them in the future. Otamendi is definitely not Samuel/Ayala (more like Collocini) and Bollati is a horrible passer of the ball.

Sorry, for whatever reason when I copy/paste the link the full web address doesn't appear. You can find the Veron article on goal.com or fifa.com whoever is interested.
