Mundo Albiceleste's podcast - Going local
It's our pleasure to present you with another edition of Mundo Albiceleste's podcast show!
We are taking this one step beyond and we decided to discuss something we don't always talk about on Mundo Albiceleste: the domestic Argentine league.
For that, I'm joined in this edition of the pod by our very good friend from Hasta El Gol Siempre. Sam KELLY. Who is also a regular writer at Soccernet.
The timing couldn't have been better as we enter the week of the final week of the Clausura tournament, where league-leaders Huracán take on the second-placed team in the standings, Velez Sarsfield, in the championship decider.
Sam tells us all about it and we also discuss Estudiantes' campaign in the Copa Libertadores and he tries to explain the difficult system used to calculate relegations in Argentina.

That guy talking now, Enrique MERELLAS, is unbelievable!
He's one of GRONDONA's mafia family capi!
How he has the face to go on and talk about this rubbish when he's been terrible in his role as an AFA director.
The way he run the club El Porvenir as a President is nothing short of mafioso.
I won't take none of the words coming from his mouth with any kind of seriousness.

Exactly - but I don't understand why all these people are granting interviews and hashing this stuff out to the world press. These guys all seem really shifty.
Can you explain the whole FA scene in some future podcast. It would be fascinating if it weren't so aggravating.
There's not much to explain, really.
GRONDONA is there since 1978. All the others working for him are responding because they have their own personal interests.
Is it surprising that GRONDONA's been advocating for RIQUELME to be back in the national team and all of a sudden, MERELAS, a man I'm sure most of our readers never even heard of, goes public with strong statements and says RIQUELME has nothing to apologize for?
You vote for GRONDONA in every elections at the AFA, he keeps you happy and you get your benefits.

It's so disheartening.
I finally got a chance to hear the podcast. Great stuff. I don;t get a chance to watch much domestic arg. football, but you guys really made the whole scene sound so interesting. Too bad they only really show Boca up here. Although Boca is defacto my team because of Riquelme, who is my fav. player, it would be nice to see the smaller sides with young players.

Hmmm....looks like Merelas is doing Grondona's dirty work for him. When I see a hired attack dog going public like this, it makes me think that Grondona is preparing the public for the possible sacking of Diego. Maybe not right away, but down the road, if things don't go well.
