TEVEZ and BIELSA in the news

The end of the most boring transfer saga finally came today. Carlos TEVEZ is officially a new Manchester United player. He is clear to make his debut on Sunday against Reading, but there are doubts on whether he is match-fit or not.

So it is the last chance for romance for those who want to join our Premier League fantasy football tournament: http://fantasy.premierleague.com and after you have registered your team, enter the following code so you can join our league: 179672-39315

In other news, Marcelo BIELSA, our manager for the 2002 Korea/Japan World Cup, will make a comeback and will become the manager of the Chilean national team. His contract will run until the end of the 2010 World Cup and his main mission will be to take Chile to the biggest football competition after they last made it in France 1998.

October 13th is already marked in BIELSA's calendar as he will make his official debut against none-other than Argentina!

It would be nice to see Carlitos in action right away, but if not, we won't have to wait long. Let's hope he starts off with a bang to avoid any of the questions and criticism that hounded him for awhile at West Ham.

Ah well, Riquelme back to Villarreal. Best of luck Roman ! We will miss you tremendously here in Buenos Aires ! Might be a tough year for Boca without you.

I love to see Riquelme for another season with Boca but Villarreal got their man back. Good luck to you Roman. Hey, June 2009 ain't that long!

Hope Pellegrini won't be such an arse.

Masche not starting today for Liverpool and not on the bench ! Reportedly still in the Copa "recovery" stage. Doesn't Liverpool want to score ??!!

SOSA made his debut for Bayern Munich in their 3-0 win against Hansa Rostock.

I was impress to see all those fantastic players together in one team!

Luca TONI (scored one), Miroslav KLOSE (2 goals and 1 assist), Ze ROBERTO, Bastian SCHWEINSTEIGER, Franck RIBERY, LUCIO, LAHM, ALTINTOP...what a team!

SOSA replaced RIBERY with 10 minutes to go and couldn't do much.

SAVIOLA made his official debut for Real Madrid aswell. They lost 1-0 against Sevilla for the Spanish Supercopa. El Conejito replaced BALBOA in the second half, when the match was already 1-0 for Sevilla.

Thanks for the update. I knew Ribery had transferred somewhere, but forgot where. I am watching Dallas vs. Columbus Crew(right, I know, Saturday night, but I am recovering from last night !:)). A horrible non foul just called on "The Twin" !!!

It's great to see the football season is back, right.

Oh yes, there was no sign of Javier MASCHERANO for Liverpool against Aston VILLA. Perhaps Rafa BENITEZ may want keep him for the Champions League qualifier

rafa wants him to get a bit more rest because of the eufa campaign and the copa america. or maybe benitez just was just too stupid to put him in, i wouldent put it past a man who is dumb enough to fill an english team with spaniards (expensive ones at that)

Looks questionable as to whether Carlitos will get in today. Rooney off with a bad wheel after half and replaced by Nani. ManU dominating but no score.

it looks like the metatarsal all over again for rooney to me

johnny said...

That must be the fear. Rooney did not look thrilled.

ManU held 0-0 despite what must have been a 70-30 advantage in possession. Kudos to Reading keeper, Marcus Hahnemann (USA product).

unbelievable, held to a scoreless draw by reading jees

Seba said...

Great performance by Reading, especially their American keeper.

Now...Johnny...USA products are what Hahnemann is eating! I've never seen a footballer as robust as him!

I think Today's result is good for Carlitos. Man Utd was clueless in attack against a team that play them the way almost 100% of the visiting teams will play at Old Trafford.

Carlitos could benefit from ROONEY's injury and he should be in the team for the mid-week game at Portsmouth.

I love the way the Premier League started and I hope the mid-table teams can give the title contenders more problems than in previous years.

Arsenal and Liverpool won with their last shot. Man Utd were held to a draw at home and Chelsea had to suffer to beat a brave Birmingham City team at Stamford Bridge.

There is hope for a very contested tournament with Sunderland beating Spurs as well.

Get ready to see alot of Carlitos. Rooney confirmed with a foot fracture. I hate to see that, but it will definitely mean less pine time for Tevez. More bad news for England's NT.

Rio said...

kinda sucks. I wanted to see them together, not one replacing another. Now they'll just stick Saha or Giggs up front and make tevez assist...

Carlitos is surely going to play now and I think Rooney may not get his place back when he is fit.

I don't think Rooney and Tevez together will work. Both need to play off a no. 9.

England will surely suffer in their UEFA 08 qualifying campaign.

Rio said...

rooney out for TWO MONTH.

materazzi needs to learn this stepping on people's foot trick.

Anonymous said...

nah, the thing is rooney's feet are thin sheets of balsa wood.

johnny said...

Too bad about Rooney's dogs. If they were as strong as his temper you could drop an anvil on them-no problem.

Rio said...

well he's not wrong. twice right foot fractures and now left foot, that guy is like Samuel L Jackson in unbreakable...
