NBA News - High Octane From Luis, Chapu & Carlos

Portland Trail Blazers 79 Houston Rockets 89

It was a team effort rather than individuals that help the Rockets to secure their third win in a row, in the process ending the Blazers home winning streak.

Luis SCOLA's contribution was all important to this, as four out of five Rocket's players that posted double digit were from the bench.

He finished off the night with 12 points, a game high 12 rebounds, 1 assist & 3 steals.

Chicago Bulls 77 Charlotte Bobcats 90

Despite playing to a sell out crowd for the 70th time, the Bulls suffered a set back in their quest for a play off birth after this defeat.

Once again Andres NOCIONI carried most of the scoring load in the absence of Ben GORDON and Luol DENG, scoring a game high 25 points. He also posted 5 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal & 2 block shot.

It will definitely be a close fight until the end of the regular season, as the Bulls still trailed the Indiana Pacers by one game with New Jersey Nets in between them.

Toronto Raptors 106 Milwaukee Bucks 75

The Raptors must be on a high after that phenomenal win over the Celtics just a few nights ago. And they really were. Tonight, the Bucks simply had no answer for this Eastern Conference high flyer.

Carlos DELFINO was also on a high as he posted 18 points, 4 rebounds & 1 assist.

I think Milwaukee has to do reshuffling now.. After they have beaten Dallas last month, they have turned 360 degrees. They have to make serious personel change now for the playoffs to make sense to them

Further News...

I'm beginning to hate this but what can I say about the defending champs.

Spurs los their fifth game at home, this time to the New Orleans Hornets 78-102.

Manu GINOBILI certainly had an off night, posting just 11 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists & 1 block shot.

Fabricio OBERTO was at 100% on the floor with 10 points & 4 rebounds.

What can i say about the Hornets?? They're real monsters on the arc!.. I don't even remember them getting into the paint to shoot some hoops. The Spurs lost because they are shooting poor 3's and weren't able to contain David West and Peja Stojacovic. The Spurs I think were doing good during the first half but they let the Hornets slip away.

Chicago Bulls 77 Phoenix Suns 88

The Bulls were again on the wrong end on the box score. Andres NOCIONI only had 7 points, 8 rebounds & 2 assists.

Houston Rockets 89 Utah Jazz 97

In the absence of YAO Ming, Luis SCOLA was brought forward for the first time as a starter.

Despite of the defeat, he has shown that he is more than capable of filling YAO’s shoes, by posting 18 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists & 1 assist.

A day later…

Utah Jazz 97 San Antonio Spurs 91

Spurs are not playing like themselves. Certainly not when you’ve committed 20 turnovers. Now plenty of questions will start to rise whether or not are they capable of winning back-to-back championship, under circumstances like this.

Manu GINOBILI was asked to step up his game after Tony PARKER was suffering from foul trouble early in the game. He was able to post a game high 29 points, 4 rebounds & 3 assists.

Fabricio OBERTO had a torrid night as well, only managing 2 points & 3 rebounds.

The Spurs are really not themselves lately. Their field-goal percentage from the arc is low and I'm really starting to worry. The next games include games against the Suns, Celtics, Raptors, & Cavaliers. I'm really starting worry. I want them to be in the Playoffs.

the spurs are not your lead-the-elimination-kinda-team right? they have proven that time and time again. so spurs fans have nothing to worry about. timmy, manu, and tony are known to play really good during the playoffs. and as far as their road trip is concerned, i think they will have a couple of easy games, seattle and new york. although i want the knicks to win. :D
