NBA News – Unhappy Manu But Happy Scola

Manu GINOBILI wasn’t happy to head into the All-Star break after a tough 89-91 loss to the short-handed Toronto Raptors, thanks to their rookie point guard Roko UKIC. Manu had every reason to be upset considering he posted 32 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals.

“We shouldn’t have lost this one,” Manu said. “It’s important to go into the break feeling good about yourself and on a good stretch. We were playing a team that isn’t doing so well and has two injured players, so we should have done much better.”

Manu scored 15 in the fourth quarter and matched his season high, but it wasn’t enough for the Spurs, who had won 11 of 13 coming in.

“It’s a really tough one,” Manu said. “We didn’t have a good game. For most of the game we were in control but down the stretch we just couldn’t score anymore and they made some great plays.”

Unlike Manu, it was very much on the opposite end for Luis SCOLA. Another double-double from him the Houston Rockets overcame the Sacramento Kings 94-82.

This result improves their record to 12-6 without Tracy McGRADY, who is still out with a sore left knee. SCOLA posted 19 points, 11 rebounds, 2 assists & 1 steal, still admits there is still more to be done for the Rockets if they wish to remain as a contender in the playoffs.

“We can’t be too excited about it,” said SCOLA. “But we’re trying to be a playoff contender, a team that is going to fight with the Lakers, Celtics, Spurs and whoever is at the top. We want to be that team. We can’t be amazed that we beat Sacramento at home.”

Thanks for the visit to my site! I didnt forget about Luis Scola i just wanted to some else there instead of the obvious one in Luis, cause we all know that he brings it day in and day out to the court! his double double was huge for the Rockets but most importantly is the fact that he runs the floor with skip and Aaron when we have a fast break. I love Luis Scola and so dose my daughter she went to the Rockets game with me when they played here in Dallas and got take a picture with him and now when she see him on TV she screams for him! (shes 5). I like your site alot too and ill visit your site alot. and thanks for your comment and hope you visit my site as well.

Thanks for the comment ovill27,

Happy to know about your daughter’s admiration for SCOLA. It comes to no surprise as Luis is well known for his great personality off the court and his dedication and hard work on it. I hope it does pays him off one day with the Rockets.

I had this weird can SCOLA play alongside YAO Ming and Tracy McGRADY in the beginning. It was then I began to realize just how much he fits into the picture. If only the Rockets has everyone healthy, they will be on top there alongside the Lakers and Spurs in the Western Conference.

By the way, would you be kind enough to send that picture of your daughter with SCOLA to me. I would like to publish that on my blog. My e-mail address is sivanjohn@yahoo.com

Good post. No excuse for the Spurs to lose to Toronto. The Spurs are a much better team than the Raptors. Manu is right. You have to have some kind of momentum heading into the All-Star break. Scola is solid and I like his game. Unfortunately, he plays for a team made of glass. Everyone gets hurt!

Great game by Manu... but as it has been this season, no help from the other guys = no win.

Nice one there Joel. the rockets are good but their injuries hinder them from getting better. Scola plays excellent basketball and i like him for being that, there's just this major issue about the Rockets that's called injuries that makes it impossible to build a solid and healthy team around him.
