After an impressive start of the U17 South American tournament in Ecuador, Argentina had to settle with only one point after they drew 0-0 against Colombia.
There were no signs of that scoring machine that tore apart Paraguay only two days ago in our debut. But the team is pretty much on course for the second round as the best three teams from the group of five, will advance to the final round.
One shocking piece of bad news is the injury to the best player of our team, striker Federico LAURITO who plays for Udinese (Italy). During the match against Paraguay, he broke the ligaments of his right knee and will of course miss out on the rest of the tournament. Here´s wishing for a speedy recovery for him.
The next match will be against Venezuela on March 11th before ending the first round participation with the Rio de la Plata derby against Uruguay (March 13th).

Hi There,
Not the kind of result that we would have expected but still our chances still looks bright, as I believe we should be able to beat Venezuela in our next game.
All I hope is that our “Younglings” will put up a much better performance compare to their under-20 counterpart. It is very much not out style to qualify for a major tournament through the back door.
UEFA Cup…
Matias LEQUI, Diego PLACENTE and Gustavo LOPEZ were in starting line up for Celta Vigo, but it is the visitor Werder Bremen who has one foot already in the next round with a crucial 1-0 away win.
Another not so good news, is that Pablo ZABALETA was not named in the Espanyol team (neither in the sub-bench) against Maccabi Haifa. Not too sure why?
Anyone else that I’ve missed out?

If im not mistaken there is an Argentine who is playing for Macabbi by the name of Roberto COLAUTTI, but i think he might have been capped by Israel.
Yes, I’ve checked on him in wikipedia and he has already been capped by Israel.

If only he was a footballer, I’m pretty sure with his current form, he would have been goal-scoring machine. Instead he shoots the hoops
I’m talking about Manu GINOBILI as he caps another sensation performance for San Antonio Spurs, by scoring a game high 31 points in their 100-93 win over Sacramento Kings. Fabricio OBERTO had 7 points to his credit.
