Little Rabbit and Little Clown get busy

Yes, it's pre-season, but I know some River Plate fans and admirers of Pablo AIMAR and Javier SAVIOLA will be happy to see this video.

Benfica faced Sion (Switzerland) in their first pre-season friendly match.

The match ended 2-2 and Angel DI MARIA had an assist for one of Benfica's goals, but I guess the most important thing was that Javier SAVIOLA got off to a great start with his new club and scored from the penalty spot.

Better still, it was Pablo AIMAR who won the penalty-kick for the Portuguese giants with one of his trade-mark runs into the box.

You can check this URL to watch extended highlights on the match:

Ahh Aimar... The days in Valencia when he led them to titles. What a magician he was. Just wish he never got hurt so much, I know he could replace Riquelme. But lets wait and see how he does this year. I will be watching a lot of Benfica's game this year to see how influential he is for the team. Hope he can get fully fit, and he will not be 30 until November. If he has a good season I wonder if Diego will call him. Oh thats right he was not a Boca and is a River player so it maybe his chances are limited.

Jack!

Jack> Aimar is far from a form that could get him a call anyway. From what he has done last year...

Good news. Great to hear Aimar and Saviola doing good. They deserve it. I hope they will shine again which they very well deserve.
