Inter Win’s 7 Goal Thriller, Thanks to MILITO & SAMUEL

It was top vs. bottom in the Italian Serie A as Internazionale came back from the dead to beat Siena 4-3 and extended their lead in the league standings.

Six minutes after Siena took the lead, Wesley SNEIJDER found Diego MILITO with a lofted ball and the striker made space for himself on the left of the area before rifling a right-foot shot into the far corner. But just as the match looked heading to a 3-3 draw, Walter SAMUEL turned out to be the real hero for the Nerazzuri when he scored Inter’s winner in injury time.

Atlético Madrid trounced Valladolid 4-0 with Kun AGUERO coming in for Diego FORLAN in the second half scoring the last goal of the game. Kun, who has been a subject for a big move to Chelsea, controlled neatly and beat Justo VILLAR with a clinical left-footed drive.

Javier SAVIOLA's second-half goal led Benfica to a 1-0 victory over Rio Ave that kept it joint leader as the Portuguese league resumed on Saturday after a three-week break. The Rabbit was clear inside the area to score three minutes into the second half, and send Benfica to the top of the standings ahead of Braga only on goal difference.

  1. Ooooh! Surprise: MILITO scores again!

Ooooh! Surprise: MILITO tops the goalscoring charts in Italy AGAIN!

And to those who say Serie A is not as good as the Premiership or La Liga...I say that's debatable and I also point out that MILITO is not only scoring because he plays for Inter (big team). He did the same with Genoa (not so big).

Also...there was someone saying he would have to do it in Spain or England before deserving a place in the national team. Well...I remember he scored 4 goals against Real Madrid at the Bernabeu playing for Zaragoza (again...not so big).

And if you really need to make it in England or Spain to be deserving of a place in our national team...then there are a lot of players who shouldn't have been anywhere near our national team in their entire careers: MARADONA never quite made it in Spain. BATISTUTA? CRESPO? ZANETTI? Never played in Spain and only CRESPO played in England, though without much success.

The list goes on. And don't get me started in that argument with Martín PALERMO, please!

Where are my pills??? I'm starting to lose my sleep because of this situation MILITO is living...

  2. Keep the faith Seba ! No pills !!

Inter really pulled one out of the fire yesterday. That second free kick goal from Sneijder was incredible. What a rocket ! The keeper was shading to that side of the goal and still could not stop it. Kudos to ex Boca Samuel !

Tomorrow, the resurgent Carlitos Tevez and Man City-17:00 in Buenos Aires !

  3. Agree on Milito's status. he is a very intelligent central striker, and one of the most important virtues of Milito besides his scoring abilities is that he brings his team together. he really knows how to open spaces for his teammates and setting them up.

it is a close call for me on whether to start Milito or Higuain upfront, but i will go with Milito and having Higuain as a first choice sub. with Messi and DiMaria playing support roles and Zarate standing by. And Ever Banega, Mascherano, and Lucio/Pastore orchestrating the midfield. Samuel marchalling our defence.

OH SHIT...I WAS DREAMING AGAIN! MARADONA IS STILL HERE
