2009 US Open - First Round Review

Its time now for the final tennis Grand Slam of the year, the US Open.

For sure we all remember that remarkable run by Juan Martin DEL POTRO in last years edition. It will be interesting to see whether he can repeat or improve his run in Flushing Meadows, as he will be facing huge obstacle in the form of Andy MURRAY and Rafael NADAL along the way.

For this campaign, DEL POTRO will start his first round encounter against another Albiceleste, Juan MONACO. With all due respect to El Pico, I’m sure DEL POTRO experience on hard court would ensure he wins this tie easily.

Other interesting first round tie will see the second episode of “El Clasico” (after the FIBA Americas and the upcoming World Cup Qualifying) with CASUSO will take on Brazillian Marcos DANIEL.

Here are the rest of the first round tie involving the Albiceleste

Juan Ignacio CHELA vs. Oscar HERNANDEZ (ESP)
Juan Pablo BRZEZICKI vs. Carsten BALL (AUST)
Maximo GONZALEZ vs. Karol BECK (SVK)
Leonardo MAYER vs. Andrey GOLUBEV (KAZ)
Martin Vassallo ARGUELLO vs. Robert KENDRICK (USA)
Horacio ZEBALLOS vs. Michael BERRER (GER)
