TEVEZ? No, it's "CARLITOS"

Some jersey information for this one. We already know the squad numbers and when we will be wearing the Albiceleste jersey and when we'll be wearing the alternate (blue) jersey (sky blue and white against Nigeria and South Korea, alternate blue against Greece). Now for some information on who will have what name on their jersey.

We all know Carlos TEVEZ will be wearing the number 11 jersey, however, above it will not be written "TEVEZ". Instead, the man with 9 goals in 52 matches for Argentina has decided to have "CARLITOS" above the number. TEVEZ wore "CARLITOS" while playing in the 2004 Copa Libertadores tournament and while playing for Corinthians.

Jonas GUTIERREZ is another player who decided not to use his last name as he will have "JONAS" written above his number 17. Sergio AGUERO will have "KUN AGUERO" on his jersey like he did when he won Olympic Gold with Argentina in 2008.

As for the two RODRIGUEZ's (Maxi and Clemente), Maxi RODRIGUEZ will have "M. RODRIGUEZ" on his jersey and Clemente will have "C. RODRIGUEZ". Another player who will have an initial on his jersey is Diego MILITO who will have "D. MILITO".

while not using as drastic a vocabulary as the 2 anonymouses, i still have to give them some credit.
Why are we starting to use funny names on the shirt all of a sudden? it might be funny with the brazilians, who have a bazillion of names that wouldn't fit on the shirt anyway. but one of argentinas trademarks has always been that we played for the jersey and not for some silly nickname on its back.
even if it's not that an important subject, i still think it's a but silly and will get us more laughs than respect.

Kun is part of his identity, something from his childhood. Lest you forget that Ronaldinho and Kaka are nicknames too. They seem to have done alright.

My comment was aimed at the anonymous' who strangely seemed to back each other up.
Personally I can't see it doing any harm, Tevez one is a bit strange but Aguero has always been Kun!

is it 100% confirmed that Tevez will have "Carlitos" on his jersey? I was going to put his number on my jersey but wanted to make sure I had the name right as well. I heard that FIFA would not allow nicknames, only last names, on jerseys for the World Cup. Which begs the question, why is Brazil so special that they can put whatever they want?
