Los Pumas rugby team has finally achieved a win in their November Autumn tour in Europe after suffering defeats against England (15-37 & 9-16) and Wales (16-33) with a win over Scotland at Murrayfield.
Santiago PHELAN, already having team selection problem following the injuries to several big names, made six changes for this final test of the year. The Scots dominated possession in an almost one sided affair and were 6-0 up at half time, courtesy of two penalties from Phil GODMAN. But the Pumas responded with attacking minded approach in the second half.
They were rewarded with two penalties, both which were converted by Martin RODRIGUEZ, to tie the score line 6-6. Then with the clock showing just two minutes left, RODRIGUEZ accepted a pass from a ruck 30 meters out from the Scottish posts, steadied himself briefly, then sent a towering dropped goal over the bar.
The Scots did tried to fight themselves back for a win but were unable to find their way as Los Pumas showed plenty of character to maintain their lead and win the game 9-6.

Hi John. This post is also on my blog.
"Even though, v Scotland excluded, both the Pumas and the Jaguars did not perform all that well in 2009, they are certainly setting up a good grounding for propective players for both events you mention. The Jaguars, for example, have played nearly a dozen games this season, from Namibia, CONSUR A, then v Uruguay again, and now the November tour. I feel their future looks good and I predict they will be serious World Cup finalists within a few World Cup".
