We're Going To South Africa!!!

The moment that changed it all for us. The moment that I believe will be best remembered by fans of Argentina from all over the world throughout this qualifying campaign. The long hard and bumpy road that we've endured has ended on a happy note. That's all I need to say for now.

VAMOS VAMOS ARGENTINA!!!!

SEE YOU IN SOUTH AFRICA 2010!!!

  3. What a relief!! A hard fought victory. Without a doubt the best defensive display sow far. The offensive was below par, even thoug i could see glimpses of the old quick passing Argentina.

The best players tonight in this order.

    Jonas
    Di Maria
    Romero
    DemiChelis
    Heinze
    Higiuan
    Shiavi
    Veron
    Messi
    Otamendi
    Macherano

Time to enjoy and tomorow we will speculate on what will happen next.

Sleep well my friends. I know I will.

  5. Agreed-Demichelis is by far our best deep defender.

  6. Vamos....Thank got first of all. Overall not a good display of football, of course with some 5-10 minutes flow passing we had not seen before. But my point here, for the first time we have seen of what so called "game plan" or "match strategy" from Maradona. Not a brilliant one, but it worked. Something we have missed and we pay dearly on Bolivia, Equador and Brazil match.....Thanks to the team, even also to Maradona, but sorry to say He is not the one to bring us glory in the next world cup....Batista please.....

Maradona should resign now and live quietly in his beach house

feel it feel it,feel the relife!!!

Yes we were ok tonight, but URUGUAY had absolutely terriable game they couldnt cope with the pressure and the nerves, they couldnt live up to expectation.

but they still cause alot of problems,we were lucky that CASERES got sent off.in the last 15 minutes i thought they controled the game and we were geting tired ,i was expecting them to score but thanks to JONAS'S run towards CASERES that didnt hapend.

As for MARADONA he should resign,he is not a coach,we should have qualifed ages ago not on the last minute.for god sake we are ARG we can not play like this forever (relying on ladies luck).

Wonderful effort by the players, time to enjoy and there's enough time now to think about the SA.The one million dollar question is what will Maradona do?Will he quit at a high note or take it to the end?One thing is for sure he knows how to throw a big party when he wins lol

  19. The qualification to world cup has come as a big relief, that is it. There is nothing to cheer with the tactics and the way we have played in the last two games. The post game interview by Maradona was an absolute disgrace and the way he sounded I am sure there is no question of his resignation.

My celebrations will start the day a sensible coach is appointed. It is no longer a joy supporting the football that Argentina have been playing of late.

    Relieved and disappointed Argentina fan.

some ppl say that he might resign according to whats going on with the AFA they are not gonna give his assistants contracts! and try to push him out he door but do u guys think he'll really resign?

    ReplyDelete
  21. Anonymous10:42 pm

Likely not, he will be with us until the end of Copa America(Which we better win). Diego leaving now? No way, his last 2 subs scored crucial goals. So he is sitting back saying, I am getting the hang of this. I make the right subs and they score.

    Jack!

    ReplyDelete
  22. Anonymous11:21 pm

I heard that Bilardo called to make the subs today

  23. batigol912:13 am

was that bilardo hugging diego at the end ?

  24. salvio supporter1:08 am

I don't know whether he'll resign or not, but I guess a new (and capable) crew will be set up. Mancusso and Lemme were there just to fill the big void left by Grondona's rejection of Ruggeri. I don't see Ruggeri being accepted now by Grondona either, but he's not the best choice anyway (haha just my opinion!)

Rumours say that these last matches were coached by Bilardo to some extent. Maradona is there just to keep his stupid reputation going on.

So if he's staying on his charge, I HOPE this time is with CAPABLE individuals by his side.

I'm also very sad about all this things surrounding Messi. Even being "coached" by someone like Batista, he did his job perfectly with the U-20. Maradona is his worst nightmare. If you're not argentine and read argentine newspapers talking trash about Messi, know it: they're the same ones that kissed Diego's ass months ago. They're as worthless as our "coach".

Maradona said publicly that there are 4 players that he surely will take to the WC: Mascherano, Gutierrez, Bolatti, and Palermo. The first 2 are his favorite players. The last 2 are surprise...because they scored a vital goal in each game.

IF the WC starts 2 weeks from now, who'll be the 23 players of Maradona?

GK: Sergio Romero, Mariano Andujar, Juan Pablo Carrizzo.
DF: Martin Demichelis, Gabriel Heinze, Nicolas Otamendi, Rolando Schiavi, Emiliano Insua, Pablo Zabaleta, Pareja
MF: Mascherano, Bolatti, Veron, Lucho, Aimar, Di Maria, Gutierrez, Messi
F: Tevez, Aguero, Higuain, Lavezzi, Palermo

These 23 have a very big chance to make it to the WC unless the season proves otherwise. They are the latest players in our list and the ones that Maradona seems to trust.

Some players that still have chances:
    GK: Ustari (30%), Villar (10%), Franco (10%)

    DF: Burdisso (50%), Coloccini (50%) Samuel (10%), Fazio (10%), Garay (20%), Seba Dominguez (30%), Monzon (50%), Papa (30%), Zanetti (20%), Gonzalo (10%), Gaby Milito (10%), Angeleri (20%), Diaz (10%)

    MF: Brana (40%), Battaglia (30%), Gago (30%), Riquelme (1%), D'Alessandro (10%), Maxi (20%), Datolo (30%), Federico Insua (30%), Enzo Perez (30%), Perotti (10%), Sosa (10%), Montenegro (20%), Ledesma (10%), Cambiasso (20%)

    F: Lisandro Lopez (30%), Diego Milito (30%), Palacio (10%), Crespo (20%), Zarate (20%), De Federico (5%), Denis (5%)

I think the forward line is packed. Aguero, Tevez, Messi, Palermo, Higuain, and Lavezzi. I don't think we would add more. It's too much already..... and I am satisfied with it. Maybe Lavezzi could be cut for an extra midfielder.... but I don't think any of the probable list could touch the likes of Aguero, Tevez, Messi, Higuain, and Palermo. Not even Milito or Lopez...unless they finish as the league top scorer by the end of the season. Then it's a maybe. Or unless someone among the first 5 gets injured by the WC.

I hope there is an upgrade in back line, though. Even Daniel Passarella expects Maradona to call up Samuel.

If I could wish one player to be added, it would be Samuel. It'll be amazing to see him with Demichelis.

As for the midfielders, the addition of Di Maria and Aimar really improve our midfield dramatically. We would have 4 central midfielders in Mascherano, Bolatti, Veron, and Lucho. The rests are attacking midfielders.

The next game is against Spain? I wanna see our counter attack against the world best attack.

I'd love fot Ever Banega to make the list if he continues with the kind of form he's producing for Valencia. Being an ex-boca might help. I hope.

  27. That's fantastic news. The World Cup wouldn't have been the same without Argentina!

  28. Hell YEA!!! The nightmare is over!! :D Great performance by the team today! I honestly wasn't expecting much from the game but the other result from Chile - Ecuador releived the pressure a bit during the match. Great Great Great Defensive play yesterday and in my opinion, Heinze was Man of the Match! Di Maria and Demichelis were a close second! :)

How is Messi suppose to play well when that idiot Maradona changes line-ups every game? 78 different players since he took over! Get rid of him now!!!

    ReplyDelete
  30. Anonymous10:06 pm

hey guys one question.. does anybody know why maradona was wearing the red bib during the game? was it to show his support for Chile who's result impacted on Argentina???

    ReplyDelete
  31. Anonymous8:30 am

andaman sorry but i think you didn't see any valencia game cause ever is the boss of the midfield already given two assist ,very quiet and confident in himself when he get the ball.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Anonymous8:34 am

agree with you salvio about di maria but he keeps the ball too long and always about complaining about referees decisions that got him stupidly exclude against bolivia.

  33. Anonymous8:36 am

quite agree to that raj diego is just unable to coach this great team

  34. Anonymous8:42 am

agree salvio supporter about newspapers criticizing leo messi .just remember what guardiola said leo would reach te argentina's olympic game against barca will :(the most important is to make leo happy )and that's not case in argentina nt i want the fans to applaud him even if he's not in the game as does barca fans cause he's a gift sent by god

    ReplyDelete
  35. Anonymous8:46 am

just remember wasn't as mature as messi is at the same age .he was exclude in wc 82 after after being invisible all along th game .and 1982 nt was a great team with talented players that's not the case for most of messi's teamate
