After spending the whole day visiting family friends home for this festive moment here in Malaysia, I was looking forward to sit back for the night and watch some exciting match that was in store. Most notably the Manchester Dhabi.
Carlos TEVEZ made a quick recovery and returned to the hunting ground which he spend during the last two years. As expected, the reception among the home fans was not good but still never take away his amazing contribution of two assist that kept City in the game. No doubt it was United’s day but for me the match was not won courtesy of OWEN controversial goal in injury time but more so from Carlitos unlucky shot that hit the bar. How’s that for a change!
Simultaneously, another interesting game was also going on but this one was from the Italian Serie A between Cagliari and Inter Milan. I must say that I was really sad while watching this. Already a goal at half time, Inter Milan came back to snatch three points courtesy of two clinical finish from Diego MILITO in a space of just four minutes.
And why am I sad about this? Because its just a bittersweet pill to swallow knowing that (if the reports were true) no matter whatever he does, another Diego will no longer be keen to call him up for the National Team. Surely we may not know for what reason this has to happen to him, but in the meantime here is the video for you to enjoy watching.
Still in Italy, Julio CRUZ was on target for Lazio in their 1-1 draw with Catania. And right now as I’m writing this, Lisandro LOPEZ and Cesar DELGADO are partnering up front for Lyon against PSG. Hopefully we’ll get something from them. For now it’s nappy time for me.
The second goal was from a really hard angle, but he still managed to put it away. Too bad he'll never get called-up though.
ReplyDeleteIn Portugal, SAVIOLA scored for Benfica in the 4th minute. Didn't see the goal yet, but he's been on fire lately. And in Spain, HIGUAIN was on the bench for the entire game as Madrid won 5-0. GAGO did play the full 90 though.
Gago had a horrible game, when it was 1-0 and the game was not in hand Gago did a few mistakes and it seemed that the crowd was turning on Gago.
ReplyDeleteallow me to give my view on some players:
ReplyDelete--tevez: he is turning into a horrible player. yes his lion heart created the first goal from nothing, but have you seen him trying to run with the ball lately?? he simply cannot..he has become too heavy and with no skill at all. what a shame!
--gago: he has managed to turn the crowd against him with a series of horrible performances. he is usless.
--banega: is maradona blind?? yes he is. banega has turned himself into a local hero at Valencia. yet another amazing performance.
--milito: what an unlucky guy! play him in a system and he will score...never happened to him with Argentina.
--zanneti: the word is that maradona will exclude him! yes nice going...the genius found that zanneti is the source of the problem! and yet he put another great performance for Inter.
--Insua: getting better and better with liverpool. he is tall, powerful, fairly quick, and most important of all intelligent with the ball.
How in the world can you manage watching so many games? Crazy stuff. But your information are useful.
ReplyDeleteYeah I second that. I will be lucky to catch a couple games a week. I was flipping through my channels and saw Valencia play. Banega was everywhere. A few things in the last couple seasons off the field caused him to lose focus on the game but it seems he is controlling that midfield. Very influential play thus far for Valencia. Lets hope his partying days are behind him and focus on the game. And who knows if Diego will call him.
ReplyDeleteJack!
@Mohd......
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with u on all points except that insua is tall.He is actually the shortest player in the Premier League!!!!!!!!!!!
Also Tevez is making me forget that he was once my fav player.......
He is completely useless now.
Hv u guys seen his 1st touch now....
Banega was gd and has been grt this season......
Another player doing well is Diego Perotti of sevilla.
guys, what to say...i am a football geek; not that i am proud of it..or maybe i am :)
ReplyDeleteForza_albicelestes:
Insua is 1.73 meters...that not short at all. actually for a left back thats very good (ashley cole is 1.76 meters for example)..any way he is like 1.70 meters taller than Papa :)
i agree with you on Perotti..he was a sub towards the end of last season. this season he broke into the first team and he is very good as a left winger. but for argentina i think Di Maria will be perfect if he gets called in the next games.
Insua is probably taller than the 1.73m is credited. He's very bulky too (around 82kg).
ReplyDeleteI think it is a myth that Argentina has no good defenders. It just happens to be that coaches recently have made poor selections and the best talent is not even in the squad. Insua will be there soon when we have a chnge of coach. He is a European style full back which i think is fine.
ReplyDeleteThe Buenos Aires-born defender has caught the eye of Argentina manager Diego Maradona and Benitez confirmed,

PL's shortest players list...
ReplyDelete165 cm - Emiliano Insua (Liverpool)
165 cm - Aaron Lennon (Tottenham)
166 cm - Shaun Wright-Phillips (Manchester City)
168 cm - Christian Benitez (Birmingham City)
168 cm - Steed Malbranque (Sunderland)
168 cm - Paul Scholes (Manchester United)
168 cm - Jay Spearing (Liverpool)
168 cm - Carlos Tevez (Manchester City)
169 cm - Jermain Defoe (Tottenham)
I see Valencia's all three match... Banega playin great all games... Our new Pirlo...
sirus,
ReplyDeletei seriously doubt your list. there is no way Insua is shorter than Wright-Phillips...the guy is tall at least 1.73...he looks even more
I dunno about that mohd.I know I checked out wikipedia...he is mentioned to be 1.73 cm.....
ReplyDeleteBut I heard for a fact that he is the shortest player in the PL from a number of sources....
From the AFA website today see below.

mohd how about Gabriel Paletta centre back plays for boca 6ft 3in, 1.91m

ReplyDeleteI just have to say that I still can't believe that Maradona is not out! I mean has Grondona ever fired a coach?
ReplyDeleteI don't know about Pasarella but I know that Bielsa wasn't fired after 2002 world cup and had to resign in 2004, Pekerman resigned,Basile resigned and Maradona is still there? :S
And I saw Samuel's performance against Barca and I knew all along that he is still World class, If Ayala comes back and partners Samuel just like Bielsa's days, then we're good for the last 2 games but unfortunately with that fat clown still in charge of the team, I doubt that ever happening.

ReplyDeletei would like to know your opinion on having saviola back in the team?? as far as i remember he has always performed with the NT..i remember in 2006 when no one expected and when tevez was expected to start with crespo, saviola played and did very well.

For me, Saviola should be considered if he shows a return to form with Benfica. I've always liked dat wabbit.
ReplyDeletei agree Johnny and saviola should be serious considered.
ReplyDeletehe has never let the nt, is a good team played and will always score goals.
Gaby Milito training with ball... His return soon...
ReplyDeleteMessi, Tevez, Aguero are playin good for club level... but failed in NT... Saviola is Different... He was flop in Barca and Real... But he always solid for NT... He is big part of 2006 world cup... created many chances when he is in the pitch...
Saviola is one player who is entirely reliant on technique and instinct plus a bit of speed which is a stark contrast to Tevez for example. He should be an alternative for Aguero although in my opinion Zarate deserves a shirt.
