Little Argentina Held Against Ecuador
I don’t have any match report for this (neither could I find anything from the internet) but I’m sure you guys would like to share with us some insight about the game. Despite of this, Tata BROWN’s side still remain on top of Group B with seven points (one ahead of Uruguay). Our last match from this group will be against them on Monday, 27th April.
We played a good first half, the goal was very nice, and Villalva had a great finish. Ecuador were not in the game at all. But, we should have done better with some of our other opportunities and made it 2-0. Second half, was a total different game, Ecuador really came at us. They were fortunate to get the penalty, but anyway, they drew the game level 1-1. Our passing then became shambolic, we couldn't keep possession, and i think we really missed Espindola(captain) who was suspended for this game. Ecuador really had a good go, and it was Damian Martinez our goalkeeper who should be thanked for getting us the point. Hopefully, we'll play a lot better against Uruguay.
The good about this team is that they are hitting the right note from the start. As compared to the one two years ago. I remmember following that team here in Mundo (back then it was called Vamos Argentina) and thinking how depressing it was.
Let's hope the good form from this team continues. I'm hoping for them to qualify for the U17 World Cup because that is all left for us to look forward in football in 2007 (Apart from the WC qualifier).
u mean 2009, John, i think. The game against Uruguay tomorrow will be tough. But, we have got a good defense and Espindola will be back, and hopefully the front 2 will refind the understanding that they lacked in the last game but had in the previous 2 games.
