TEVEZ - England, Europe & Now The World

He did started the match. He had a triple sight on goal but was denied on all three occasions. But for him personally, it wasn’t the way that he would have wanted to end the night. The sending off Nemanja VIDIC in the 49th minute forced Sir Alex FERGUSON to make a tactical substitution. Carlos TEVEZ had to be replaced by Jonathan EVANS, something he was not happy as he was snatching his track suit top and kicking out in frustration at the dug out. But in the end it was all good for him. Manchester United were crowned as the 2008 Club World Cup winner after defeating LDU Quito 1-0, with a goal from Wayne ROONEY.

It’s another title that will be added into his already impressive CV as far his club football career is concerned. Within a space of a year, he played his part in conquering England, then Europe and now the World. Well done to the little known giants from Ecuador they too had their fair share of success in 2008. As confirmed, this will be the last match in charge for coach Edgardo BAUZA. Good luck El Paton.

  1. John,
Nice blog you have here, but unfortunately, I don't really follow other leagues.

However, it is nice to see a blog especially dedicated to Argentina. Keep up the good work.

As of Man Utd's latest victory, 2008 could not be ended in a better way. Declared as the World Club Champions showed how successful Man Utd is in 2008. Many people would ridicule this latest victory, but it takes one to become Champions to go to Japan for this tournament, doesn't it?

  3. Thanks for the comments coming in!

By the way some early scoreline involving the Albiceleste….

So far a couple in Greece. Ismael BLANCO was on target in AEK Athens 3-2 win over Ergotelis.

While Facundo PARRA scored the last minute winning goal for Larissa in their 2-1 win against Levadiakos.

  4. Don't forget this is Carlitos' second Intercontinental/FIFA Club World Cup title after the one he won with Boca Juniors in 2003.

What an amazing career for him so far!

Makes me really proud to see him collecting medals and trophies all the time and everywhere!

I Agree with you about Carlos Tevez.
I also appreciate him as a player at MU, he also played an important role in Manchester United, so ManU become a winner.I not only as fans of Ronaldo and Rooney but also the other players.
once again congratulation for the fans of Man U out there.

Vôces só pegam moleza no mundial , pegaram o fraco Palmeiras e agora a LDU .
Isso tudo deverá acabar quando pegarem o SÃO PAULO pela frente.

Manchester alone catches moleza in the world-wide one, had caught weak the Palms now and the LDU.
This everything will have to finish when to catch the São Paulo for the front

SÃO PAULOOOOOOOO THE BEST BRASILIAN FOOTBALL

carlos tevez played well.. too bad he didn't score at all.. the sending off of vidic left SAF with no choice but to sacrifice one of his forwards.. it was four minutes just after the start of the second-half, what "a perfect timing" vidic but couldn't really blame him though since it was a spontaneous respond.. it was a nerve-breaking game.. i'm just glad man.united win.. ;) we are the champions!
