Okay, we got the long awaited win against Uruguay so now let’s shift our attention to the next match against Chile which is just moments away before kick off.
On the team report; As Seba has already mentioned in the previous post, Kun AGUERO has recovered and looks set to partner MESSI and MILITO in a three man attack. Both Javier MASCHERANO and Martin DEMICHELIS should also be available. I will post the starting eleven as soon as I have the info.
Now back to the game. A familiar name will be at the Chilean dugout. Many players in the current squad have worked under him. The highlight of his career as the Albiceleste coach must be winning the gold medal in Athens and the lowest has to be the 2002 World Cup Korea/Japan. I’m sure you all know who I am referring to.
In our first encounter back in October last year, a double free kick from Roman ensured that we got off to a winning start in our qualifying campaign.
The match will be played at the Estadio Nacional and I’ve got some good news. For the first time I will be watching and posting comments together with you guys during the game. Hopefully I’ll have some company throughout the game.
National anthem is being played now.

4-3-3 formation
Oohhh!!! That was close
ReplyDeleteFree kick Messi but Chilean keeper got to it.
ReplyDeleteBURDISSO is down after that nasty collision with GONZALEZ. Looks like he might be out.
ReplyDeleteIn come Cata DIAZ.
Phew!!! Now that was really close.
ReplyDeleteBrilliant play by MESSI!!!
ReplyDeletewhere are we watching the game online
ReplyDeleteFree kick for Argentina...
ReplyDeleteTry this link...
ReplyDeletehttp://www.ustream.tv/videoplayerpopup/channel/6102
The referee just awarded a free kick to Chile just outside the penalty box.
ReplyDeletePhew!!! Thank goodness that went wide.
ReplyDeleteChile just scored. Down 1-0. Argentina could not get the ball away.
ReplyDeleteJack!
FUCK!!!! They've scored.....
ReplyDeleteMILITO seems to be missing from the game....
ReplyDeleteC'mmon Argentina!!!
ReplyDeletePound to pound we're way better than Chile.
I think Argentina is turning to what Espana was a few years back, a bunch of underachievers. Talented by name but that is about it.
ReplyDeleteJack!
Welcome Jack!
ReplyDeleteIt seems we just can't find any breakthrough here.
3 min to half time...
Great tackle by HEINZE on SUAZO!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks John, just got back work. Soon as I turn on the tube they pretty much scored, they almost scored again.
ReplyDeleteJack
Another close call!! What's going on here.
ReplyDeleteI am tired of this 1-1 crap by the attackers. All Chile is doing is sticking out their leg and poking the ball away.
ReplyDeleteJack.
Bollocks to the referee, that wasn't a foul...
ReplyDeleteFree kick....taken by LEDESMA....argghhh!!!
ReplyDeleteWell thats HT. 1-0 to Chile. Hey maybe this could be a good thing, fire Basile! And I were head of the AFA I would go after a Guss Hiddink.
ReplyDeleteJack
the team is not working well guys! thats whats happening...where's riquelme or cant he play today. just horrible to watch. they are just flying the ball in air like italy. i belive we can get a draw. but will take some performance to win.
ReplyDeletefingers crossed.
Vamos Albiceleste
Welcome P2BN, glad you can join.
ReplyDeleteAfter 7 bloody min of injury time, the half time score line is 1-0 in favour of the home team.
Our performance was below par, I'll admit that. A point looks more like an achievement today.
Might take miracle for a win....
Drastic measure needs to be taken in 2nd half.
I agree, this team is not a team. Fire BASILE already. Something has to happen. I am falling asleep watching the game to be honest, this is as boring as the last presidential debate. Teams just know how to play Argentina, they just do not give any space and they fall apart.
ReplyDeleteJack.
Hey its Ivan Zamorano, what a talent he was.
ReplyDeleteIs Di Maria called up? If so take off Milito and bring him in.
ReplyDeleteJack!
Jack, I feel we need another attacker in midfield. MILITO has been cornered by the two Chilean centerbacks and has no space to make himself available when the oppoturnity arise.
ReplyDeleteHopefully we'll see DI MARIA is place LEDESMA so that he and MESSI can work from the wings.
Kun can provide the much needed support for MILITO up front.
Dammed, can't believe this is happening to Argentina.
Players are coming out for the 2nd half. I wonder what kind of team talk would Coco have said to the team???
ReplyDeleteFair result for the first half. Chile worked better as a team and it is clear that BIELSA is making them play with his fast pace style and I think this is the first time ever that Chile believe they can take the bull by the horns.
ReplyDeleteThe bad thing is that we are letting them.
What really worries me is the tendency AGUERO and MESSI are showing to pass the ball only to each other.
MILITO was ALL ALONE after MESSI passed the ball to AGUERO and KUN, instead of feeding the Genoa striker who, I insist, was ALL ALONE AND WIDE OPEN, decided to give the ball back to MESSI, surrounded by at least 3 Chile defenders and the goalkeeper.
I don't like MASCHE playing on the right and the second half is about to begin.
Another of my favourites is about to take the field. Gonzalo BERGESSIO is coming in to replace Diego MILITO.
Thanks for giving MILITO only 45 minutes, Coco! When will you learn???
BERGESSIO comes in for MILITO. Is this a good move?
ReplyDeleteHey Seba, great to have you here! Hopefully your present will bring some luck.
ReplyDeleteCorner kick for us..
ReplyDeleteWhat a mistake that could of been. Why are you passing the ball back like that????
ReplyDeleteJack
There goes that 1-1 play again. Well FK from a dangerous spot.
ReplyDeleteJack
Free kick. No Roman to take this one. Messi.....argghh!!!
ReplyDeleteumm i duno guys but i am not feeling so afraid like i used to after being behind. maybe i am just tired of beinf afraid or maybe i am getting it tht this team can fight back. i really hope the 2nd one. hope we at least have a point or better.
ReplyDeletevamos albiceleste
What kind of FK was that? Chile on the counter attack... Almost for Chile.
ReplyDeleteJack.
Phewwww Chile almost scored again.
ReplyDeleteNow Chile have a corner.
ReplyDeleteDoes Aguero think this is a video game and he can take on everybody 1-1. I am telling you, all Chile is doing is sticking their foot out and kicking the ball away.
ReplyDeleteJack.
Wat to go ref, finally you've open up your eyes.
ReplyDeleteAnother close call again!!!
ReplyDeleteChile is owning this game. They came close again.
ReplyDeleteKun!!!! Argghh that was close!!!
ReplyDeletewell now the fear is kicking in..and i am realizing the shit way the team is playing...they are functioning as players not team.....comon guys we are better then this.....so fraustrating....
ReplyDeletevamos vamos albiceleste
Great save by CARIZZO!!!
ReplyDeleteGoal line clerance!!!!
Hey, what's happening here?
Bloody hell, that was a foul on MESSI. And what does referee do....play on!!!!
ReplyDeleteYeah I think this can be the straw that broke the camels back. Argentina can not even get the ball. And all I see is selfish play, 1-1.
ReplyDeleteJack.
have u guys seen messi this bad...me never...he just is invisible...first time ever i am feeling tht.....only zanetti and the keeper are good and some defenders....others are totally horrible..
ReplyDeleteYellow card for ZANETTI.
ReplyDeleteYellow card for DEMICHELIS. Free kick for Chile from a dangerous position....
ReplyDeletey the fuck r they flying the ball.....zero shots in goal..wtf man........god its outright bad..
ReplyDeleteits as if chile is argentina and argentina is chile atm..the position of players in team are bad....this really is very bad......i have watched boring games...this is outright bad bad bad.....at least a draw..
10 min to go. Is this end of Coco reign?
ReplyDeleteHere they come again......thank God for that....
ReplyDeletebring back lucho gonzalez
ReplyDeleteAre they gona qualify ????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
ReplyDeleteSAND has won free kick....
ReplyDeletewhat the hell is this
ReplyDeletethis team cant hold a pattern
they lose
they tie
they barely win
I doubt qualifying
Coco takes a puffs. We're into injury time.
ReplyDeleteNot looking good at all. Oh well.
ReplyDeleteJack
Mico!!!! Argghhhh!!!
ReplyDeleteIt's over!!!
ReplyDeleteChile first win in a competitive game against us.
I need to take a breather from what I've just seen.
Hhhmmm....
worst game ive ever seen argentina play
ReplyDeleteever
get rid of basile
bring in Batista, or even Bianchi
mannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn
ReplyDeletesomeone do some pretty good check of the team........we have the so called best of the best and yet this fucking ridiculous result....don't tell me chile played good...maybe but it was because we played like shit....this tops my list of the worst game they ever played....even higher then the thrashings by the brazillians because of the sheer lack of work the players put in it....someone please do something now man or we will face the bitter consequence very sooon... dont forgot what happened to england guys....
man i stayed without doing my proejct works, even with a bad health till 2 am in night to watch this shit.....darn............
we are better then this....someone put tht in the players ears...
Well if Basile does not get fired then I do not know. Maybe I should give up watching football.Cant wait to go online on Thursday and see what they have wrote in the papers.
ReplyDeleteJack.
I can understand the sentiment that everyone is feeling right now. Coco makes a lot of funny decision.
ReplyDeleteI keep telling myself why many players who could have made a difference are not in this team. HIGUAIN, LUCHO, LICHA, CAVEGOL…..and the list goes on.
Why wasn’t DI MARIA not even brought in to try something?
Tactically it all went wrong when Coco decided to use just one hit man all by himself up front. It is not fair to blame MILITO for not being able to do anything as he was ambush by the entire Chilean defense as soon as the ball goes to his feet.
There was a lack of creativity in midfield with the absence of RIQUELME.
There is another thing that I would like to highlight here about our national team. From BIELSA to BASILE, neither had a plan B. This is so true as without Roman we look like we’ve been switch off completely.
I am sow frustrated with our performance that i will not be able to go to sleep. (its 4 in the morning here, live in sweden.) Basile got to go!! It seems like Argentina dosent have a gameplan when they enter the field. Many times you see them in each others way, 3,4 players around each other. When they do get the ball there is no movment. I have always said that Basile is an awful manager. I mean look at him, the game is not over and he decides to light up cigaret. I almost threw something on my tv when i saw his behaviour. I am sow angry to see us underperform like this. The players lacked dicipline manegment, it was like go out and play and give the ball to Messi or aguero. The best players were Zanetti, carizzo and Heinze.
ReplyDeleteWhen it comes to Bielsa, please do not critise him. He is a fucking genius. He turned a team like chile with avarege players to completly dominate us. They were better then us in every aspect of the game.
Please argentina fans that speak spanish. It would be really nice if you could translate what the argentinian papers say.
Thank you.
