Just when the prospect of watching Gonzalo HIGUAIN, Sergio Kun AGÜERO and Mauro ZARATE all together in our U20 National Team that will play the Youth World Cup in Canada, news came from Spain, where Real Madrid have asked the Argentine Football Association (AFA) not to include PIPITA in the squad.
This comes just after the same club denied ROBINHO the chance to join the Brazilian national team when DUNGA needed him.
Another case in which clubs have the priority and international football is damaged.
I really wanted to see PIPITA in the team and I think this is a real shame.
I hope we pick him anyways. the exposure would be good for him. I cant begin to say how mad I am at these mercanary teams telling us who we can pick and who we cant. If it wasnt for our players, thier so called super league wouldnt amount to squat.
ReplyDeleteReal Madrid don't really have the best possible relationship with the various national FAs, do they? I can see their point of view, since Higuain is a part of the team, and this game is so important. But to miss an entire tournament because of it?
ReplyDeleteI wonder how Gonzalo himself feels about this - after all, youth tournaments are perfect for players waiting to break through, and his chances with the full NT might be limited at present.
I feel you both! And I agree with you.
ReplyDeleteWhat really pisses me off is the belief they have that Real Madrid are bigger than any national team!
Other teams are similar and I'm just opening fire against them because it is the case that we are talking about (HIGUAIN).
It's just unfair...
I would bet Higuain is very ambivalent about the whole thing. As much as he would like to play for Argentina, he has also been a big part of Real's comeback this year. To miss the very last match of the year as they try to fight off Barca would be tough for him. Not an easy situation.
ReplyDeleteI pretty sure that the u20 tourney doesn't start until July. He can still play for madrid this weekend and still make the u20's. I think they just need to step back adn let the lad do what he wants. if he wants to taste glory with the albiceleste's then let him.
ReplyDeleteMy fears had reasons...
ReplyDeleteGonzalo HIGUAIN have said that he would rather skip the Youth World Cup in order to rest and prepare for next season as he said he's been through a lot of changes in a very short period and he needs some time off...
BOLLOCKS!
I wonder if he realises that HE WILL NEVER EVER EVER HAVE THE CHANCE TO PLAY IN A YOUTH WORLD CUP!!!!
Seasons in Europe he will have plenty. At Real or not. I just don't see what's the point and how can he have his priorities so wrong!
I rather have 11 PINOLAS in my team. I said it.
I don't think this has anything to do with real. I think he was thinking copa america all the way and the thought of u20's never even crossed his mind. He's basically just being a spoiled brat and saying if I cant play with the big boys, I wont play.
ReplyDeleteChau pibe! We dont need him anyways. Aguero and Zarate is more than enough firepower to take the trophy home again.
The thing to remember is that he wont see the senior team any time soon if ever now. will he go back to france??
I stand corrected about this. I thought he was all fired up about Real, but that obviously is not the issue. But as Soyderiver says, he likely won't be missed. Wearing all white and hanging with the big money in Madrid must have got to him.:)
ReplyDeleteRobinho is now playing in the Copa so I don't see why Real won't let Higuain play in the World U20 C'ship. If winning the World Youth Cup is important enough for Diego in 1979 then it should be important enough for every true Argentine.
ReplyDeleteMaybe Higuain should just play for France and forget about it. We have plenty of good youngsters anyway.
