The list is out! Meet Javier PINOLA

I'm in shock! A player that was considered as not good enough at my team (Racing Club) and now playing at Nurnberg in Germany is the biggest surprise in a list that sees the anticipated return of Lionel MESSI, Carlos TEVEZ, Pablo AIMAR and Javier MASCHERANO.

Here's a video of Javier PINOLA (there is another one of him taking a penalty kick for Nurnberg but the quality is poor).

You won't see much of his playing skills, but you'll see he is a cheeky guy! Funny stuff after he gets booked (wait until the last bit of the video).

Here's the full list:

Roberto Abbondanzieri (Getafe, Spain), Leonardo Franco (Atlético Madrid, Spain), Roberto Ayala (Valencia, Spain), Gabriel y Diego Milito y Pablo Aimar (Zaragoza, Spain), Nicolás Burdisso, Esteban Cambiasso, Javier Zanetti y Hernán Crespo (Internazionale, Italy), Gabriel Heinze (Manchester United, England), Fernando Gago (Real Madrid, Spain), Luis González (Porto, Portugal), Jonás Gutiérrez (Mallorca, Spain), Javier Saviola y Lionel Messi (Barcelona, Spain), Ezequiel Garay (Racing de Santander, Spain), Carlos Tevez (West Ham, England), Javier Mascherano (Liverpool, England) y Javier Pinola (Nuremberg, Germany).

Pablo AIMAR is the only natural play-maker and so I expect he'll get to play in that position.

Diego MILITO and Hernan CRESPO give COCO great options up front, while SAVIOLA, MESSI and TEVEZ are all contending for the starting role as the other attacking player.

Ezequiel GARAY is the other big surprise of the list as he and PINOLA get their first ever call-up to our National Team.

That looks like a good list, although as you point out there are still question marks over the playmaker position.

Very happy for Carlitos and Masche, who richly both deserve to be recalled. Same applies to Garay, as he's had a great season, IMHO.

(I've been having a hard time academically, but I just have to chime in and say how much Carlitos' journey with West Ham in the latter half of the season has moved me. It's great to see the fans reacting to his real passion.)

From what I've seen on this list, I guess COCO is spot on!!! Though the likes of GARAY or PINOLA may have been a surprise. At this moment any coaches would rather be in COCO's shoes. Just look at the list, the quality are coming from all angles

My guess for the starting line up will be PATO in goal (that's for sure)

In defense, the back four will be BURDISSO and HEINZE on the right and left respectively with AYALA and MILITO in centre.

The midfielder is going to be a very tough choice to make, but ZANETTI should command the right hand side and AIMAR to take from the left. GAGO and MASCHERANO will play in the centre.

Up-front? Oh boy this is even harder than I expected!!! But at the end if I had to pick two I guess I will settle for TEVEZ and Diego MILITO. But I have to admit its hard to see CRESPO and MESSI on the bench.

Overall I'm very happy with the list.

VAMOS ARGENTINA!!!

I am a little surprised tha D'Alessandro is not on the list. Is he out of favour or just doesn't want to play?

All that talk about Higuain not sure about playing for France or Argentina... he needs not worry for now.

D. Milito, Crespo and Saviola will ensure we score plenty of goals. I just hope Messi, Aimar other midfielders provide enough ammunition. I am suspect of Aimar's recent form though.

I am not sure Tevez and Crespo together upfront will work, it clearly did not in the World Cup except against Serbia. Messi and Tevez will definitely not work as we saw against Brazil. We need a proper centre forward like Crespo or Milito or Saviola with them. Same way they work with Zamora or Eto'o at club level.

At the back I am worried about Burdisso's temperament and ability, but with Ayala, Zanetti and Milito besides him it should be alright.
