Pablo AIMAR goes to Real Zaragoza

Real Zaragoza have made official the signing of Argentina star Pablo AIMAR for the next four seasons in exchange of 11 million Euros.

The Valencia CF playmaker is moving to La Romareda Stadium and will join fellow argentines: Gabriel MILITO, Diego MILITO, Andrés D'ALESSANDRO and Leonardo PONZIO.

Pablo AIMAR, 26 years old, played almost 200 matches for Valencia. He won 2 Spanish League titles, 1 UEFA Cup and 1 European Supercup, getting to the Champions League final in the process.

As a clear image of what PABLITO means for Valencia fans and how much they will miss him, last night before leaving his former team's training ground, a young Valencia supporter started crying because he was sad to see him leave. It was Pablo AIMAR who tried to console him and give him comfort.

  1. Zaragoza are preparing a presentation show for Pablo AIMAR.

It'll be exciting to watch them play this season. With 5 argentines wearing that shirt and all with national team pedigree.

Gabriel MILITO and AIMAR were in the World Cup.

Diego MILITO and Leonardo PONZIO played a few games in the past and could do it again in the future.

While D'ALESSANDRO have won a Youth World Cup (with his friend SAVIOLA in Argentina 2001) and he also played a Copa America with BIELSA as a manager.

If they can work all together and bring the best out of their games, they have a good chance to shine in Spain and convince BASILE of giving them a chance to play for Argentina.

  2. Kaiserslautern 3-2 Liverpool

A late Marcel Ziemer strike handed Kaiserslautern a narrow vicory over a strong Liverpool side in Germany.
New signings Craig Bellamy, Gabriel Paletta and Mark Gonzalez all started while Jermaine Pennant started the game on the substitute's bench.

Ricardo Villar gave the hosts the lead before Welsh striker Bellamy equalised on the hour mark.

Luis Garcia put Liverpool ahead eight minutes later but Ziemer bagged two in the last 20 minutes to snatch the win.

So does anyone know why Aimar had the falling out with Valencia which caused this move? I mean I know he had a lot of injuries but is that really why they sold him? I just find hard to believe that he was ignored by Quique Sanchez Flores for that reason. He hasn't had a good season with coaches, first Rafa Benitez, then Flores, and finally Pekerman who didn't really use him all that much in the WC.
Oh well I wish him the best at Real Zaragoza. Too bad I don't get La Liga matches
