NBA Playoffs News - SCOLA & Rockets Ends Portland’s Trail

Sorry for not posting anything here as I’ve just recovered from a terrible illness. Feels good to be back by the way. Unfortunately there was no good news during these last few days. Both TEVEZ and MESSI firing blanks in the Champions League encounter.

Now back to the related article, as they say the JINX IS FINALLY LIFTED!!!!

The Houston Rockets responded after the defeat with a comfortable 92-76 win against the Portland Trail Blazers to close out the series 4-2. Tonight both Ron ARTEST and YAO Ming came out from their shell to contribute this win.

Luis SCOLA was quite tonight posting just 9 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal & 1 block shot. But clearly he was the series MVP. He was the only consistent force on the offensive end, especially in games three and four, when YAO had trouble getting the ball.

In Game Five, SCOLA scored 15 points in the first quarter, keeping them in the game, but it just wasn't enough. Check out this video on how the Blazers vent their emotions after they way Luis dismantle them in Game 3 & 4.

He only struggled in Game 6, but that was because the Blazers shifted their attention on him left Ron and YAO to do the damage. He scored 19, 12, 19, 17, 21, and 9 for the series, and was a constant factor on the boards and defense. He leads the series in terms of points with 16.2 ppg.

The Rockets would not have won this series without Luis SCOLA.

And just one more thing, Happy Birthday Luis!!!!!

I am here to thank you and wish you luck for the Rockets. It will be tough: the Lakers are very good.

Happy birthday, Luis!

Bye!

I really think LA will be the champion this year. The Rockets have a nice team, but I don't think they can ofer any resistence to the Lakers...

I am very happy that the Houston Rockets made it to the secod round this year. They deserve it! And Luis Scola was a big part of what they have accomplished so far. But the Lakers will be tough for them. Ron Artest can hold Kobe back but it will take a team effort on behalf of the Rockets if they even hope to stop LA. Either way, in my mind this has already been a great season for Houston. As far as I'm concerned, every win hereafter is just icing on the cake.

For the Rockets to beat LA, everything will have to go right, but I think it can be done.

The good news is that there's nothing outside of the Houston's inherent strengths that they won't be able to utilize.

1. The Rockets have the advantage inside with Yao and Scola

2. All their perimeter players are deep threats, with the exception of Kyle Lowry.

3. If any team is bettter equipped to slow down Kobe, it's Houston, with both Shane Battier and Ron Artest.

4. The Rockets have the upper hand in overall team toughness.

Can the Rockets put everything together?

If they do, then it's going to be a hell of a series, and I'd give the red and white more than a passing chance at an upset.
