I have to echoed Seba’s sentiment about Inter’s performance in the Champions League as compared to their dominance on the domestic front. They have to improve on that importantly.
But once again RESPECT to the Nerrazurri for proving that it was no fluke on their part winning this campaign. Last year there was a tough battle from arch rival Juventus but this time, they swept across everything.
Just watching the Champions League semi finals proved to me that Real Madrid and Inter Milan are nowhere near the English teams and Barcelona. They need to improve if they are to reach the latter stages of the competition.
Albiceleste goals from sunday:Diego Milito,Maximiliano Pellegrino,Esteban Cambiasso,Matias Cenci,David Depetris,Ismael Blanco,Angel Di Maria,Marcos Gelabert,Leonardo Iglesias,Guillermo Schelotto And Andres D'Alessandro.Juan Monaco gave Argentina its first point against Serbia at the World Team Cup by defeating Janko Tipsarevic 6-4 7-6.
Just read that Nicolás BURDISSO is second in the list of Argentines players with more titles in their careers!
He only trails Alfredo DI STÉFANO (who took the Spanish citizenship in the second half of his career) by two.
BURDISSO has now collected 19 first-place medals.
He wins a trophy every 18,63 matches he plays!!!!
He made his debut at 18 and is now 28 years-old. Which means he has won almost two medals per year!
Three of those medals have come with the Albiceleste, but all of them have been in the Youth teams. Which means that we will all be hoping he gets closer to DI STEFANO roughly a year from today.
WOW! That really surprised me! Burdisso??? the guy's really been lucky and he's not such a good player! I think that Messi and Tevez can surpass Di Stefano in a few years time.
